302.22 // Ascendancy and Galactic Alliance Agree Treaty Terms

Breaking news this evening as confirmation has just come through that the treaty between the Coalition and ruling houses of the Chiss Ascendancy has been agreed upon and signed by both sides.

Hailed as the ‘Treaty of Mygeeto’, the site of the Ascendancy’s first major drive into Commonwealth territory, the treaty was signed by the Ascendancy representatives present at the summit as well as members of the Alliance Senate as well as Admiral Wilkinson who led the Alliance war effort as part-time Chief of State after the assassination of Caden Aquitenne. Representatives of the Jedi Order were also stated as being present at the summit.

We can confirm that amongst a number of stipulations, the return of all previously seized territories over the course of the war as well as the release of all detained prisoners of war on both sides have been agreed upon. However, former Commander of the Ascendancy forces, Tesar’etto’nuruodo was found guilty of war crimes and atrocities against civilians and will now spend his life in prison at an undisclosed facility. The Chiss delegation also made it clear that he has been exiled from the Ascendancy.

302.20 // Body found in the streets of Alzoc’s Capital City.

There has been yet another disturbance within the heart of the Alzoc III Capital, when at approximately 1500-GST, the corpse of a Human Male came crashing through the west booth of the Drunken Droid – One of the more prominent Cantinas in the City.

Alzoc Security were alerted immediately and have since barricaded the booth for further investigation.
One of our reporters was able to capture an image of the victim before being quickly removed by security.

The body is yet to be identified by authorities and what caused the initial fall is unclear.
Several eye-witnesses claimed to have seen a blaster hole emblazoned on the left side of the victim’s head, though no official response has been made to this claim.

One patron has described the event as “worryingly commonplace”. This is in reference to an earlier incident back in 295.ABY when a Gran fell from the Landing tower through the east booth of the same Cantina.

Alzoc Security have promised an official statement in the coming days to announce the results of their investigations. More on this, still to come…

302.20 // The GA talk with the Ascendancy

New information was released today by the Senate regarding the progress being made in discussions between the Galactic Federation of Free Alliances and the Chiss Ascendancy since their surrender.

While we have not been permitted to enter Ascendancy space or indeed visit Csilla itself, we have been told that significant changes have been made by means of leading figures in more than one of the Ruling Families, which govern the different systems of the Chiss Ascendancy. Reports are stating that most of the new leadership were permitted to attend the trial of Tesar’etto’nuruodo, the Chiss Cynic who led the Ascendancy invasion forces against the Commonwealth and later the Galactic Alliance. It is said that the Ascendancy’s new leadership openly condemned the actions of Tesar’etto’nuruodo, which split the opinions of both the Chiss Ruling Council and Parliament and suggested this will all but seal the result of his trial.

Leading representatives of the Ascendancy are travelling to meet an Alliance delegation on Mygeeto to finalise the details of a treaty that is not only long overdue but has undergone extensive review. Nothing has been confirmed as of yet as to the stipulations of this treaty but experts say this will include such outcomes as the removal of all military and colonial officials from sovereign Commonwealth and Alliance territories from before the war as well as the release of all remaining prisoners of war.

We believe this to be only a formality in the process but reviews are being permitted on both sides to ensure that the interests of the citizens are kept within an agreed mutual consensus.

302.18 // Alliance And Mandalorian Talks?

It has been long questioned, regarding the rumours, that an on going discussion between the Alliance and Mandalorian Forces have even taken place or started since the cease fire, which brought to an end the devastating conflict suffered in the recent War.

Today we have received confirmation, from the new look Senate, that discussions have taken place and are on going but details are unclear and no official ‘treaty’ or agreement has been reached at this time. However, we have been told that reassurances can be given, that while in the beginning the talks were uneasy, cooperation is present on both sides as the Alliance look to secure a peaceful continuation of the cease fire with the Mandalorians, who seemed to have “walked away” after a bloodied battle with the Jedi Order, with large casualties suffered on both sides.

Experts suggest that a hostile reaction from the Mandalorians could be likely should these delicate talks break down, with no information available on the new Mandalore who came to power during the final battle with the Jedi Order, any regards to their current agenda is purely speculation at this point.

No more information has been offered as of yet, but should we receive more about these talks, you can rest assured you will read them here first.

302.14 // Commonwealth Representatives Arrive On Coruscant

Breaking news, representatives from the leading body of the commonwealth have started arriving on Coruscant, to attend a meeting with Chief Of State Malucia, regarding their possible reintroduction to the Senate and ultimately the Galactic Alliance itself. Most of the questions hinge on what the systems will be guaranteed in terms of power and rights within the Senate, something which has been sending the Senate into a frenzy of debate.

It’s believed that they wish to have some involvement with the restructuring of the Senate offices, currently underway, but also a share of the political responsibilities considering the investments and contributions they will be making consistently, to the Alliance, as part of the push for economic growth and  to re-establish a larger military force. Our political experts are claiming that they may be granted a seat on the Advisory Council in as a official ‘hand shake’ in acceptance of the proposals, but this could see a complete overhaul of the current political set up but prove a real positive for growth in resources.

Should the Chief Of State be successful in her talks with the Commonwealth leaders, a public address is expected for confirmation of these changes.

We will keep you updated with the latest, as yet another historic moment could well be witnessed.
