269.30 // A New Year – New Faces

Following the Council Session of 269.30, six new Initiates have been selected as members of the Jedi Order: Zekii Abrak, Daereon Daimon, Zeak Dystiny, Fane Ornn’ila, Ametha Tasia, and Jacen Ginos.

The Council would like to congratulate each of our new Initiates, and submit one reminder: it is difficult to become a Jedi, but it is more difficult to stay one. May your time within our ranks be prosperous for both you and the Order.

269.30 // Corinth Alkorda, High Councilor

After a career spanning fifty years and half of the Galaxy, Jedi Master Corinth Alkorda has been welcomed onto the High Council by in-place councilors Soh Raun and Jared Quell. Master Corinth Alkorda has had a long experience within the Order and on the field, and his wisdom and cool-headedness will be strong assets to conduct his new duties. Upon induction, Master Corinth stated:

As my mentor and former High Councilor Axem Keigoku once said, “Let no man take upon his own will what the Force has not willed for him.” As the Force has called me to a higher position within our Order, I will respond with reverent obedience.

The addition of a new High Councilor will help to aid the High Council as our Order expands throughout the years. Indeed, we are entering a time of prosperity and growth, and this expanded High Council will help to guide the Jedi Order along that path.

269.29 // An Unchanging Galaxy – A Special News Report

Ever since the last sting upon the Black Sun crime syndicate, there has been a surprising amount of criminal smuggling, sentient trafficking, and other nefarious deeds still going on.

After a recent spike in this activity, I was charged with the investigation by the GHN association to travel to the planet Naboo to see how this criminal activity really affects the people.

When one thinks of Naboo, they generally think of the vast hill country, the massive waterfalls…the start of the Clone Wars. However, when I arrived at the capital, I saw a city which was broken. The streets were plagued with families crying in the streets, men walking around as if lost, and various other levels of emotional disarray. Definitely not what one would expect to see. 269.27 // Jedi Killed on Kashyyyk – Trandoshan Plot?

Trandoshans suspected after a Jedi is assassinated on Kashyyyk…

Kashyyyk

Kashyyyk

A Jedi Knight has been assassinated on Kashyyyk while investigating new signs of galactic slavery. Knight Lin (32) was found in an upper canopy clearing along with several Trandoshan mercenaries. Several of the Trandoshans had suffered lightsaber wounds while Knight Lin died after an apparently fatal blast to the chest.

An inquiry into Trandoshan activity on Kashyyyk has begun and the incident has further fuelled Wookiee resentment to the Trandoshan race who for years enslaved Wookiee’s as one of their primary sources of income. While it is apparent that the Trandoshan mercenaries found dead had established a base of operations, most of their personal records were destroyed during the apparent fight with Knight Lin. 269.10 // Kaelen Sekura Knighted

Yesterday evening, following an encounter with a known Dark Jedi, Kaelen Sekura (age 27) was knighted by the Jedi Council of Yavin IV.

Initiated on 251.22, born on Lok and sent to Yavin IV from Talus, Kaelen was a curious youngling with a strange taste for taun-taun jerky. Over the years, however, this curious child grew into a fine adult, and a fine Jedi. His skills with his saber and remarkable ability to remain calm in dangerous situations have been a great combination, allowing him to overcome all that he has faced during his training.

Kaelens time as a padawan was spent with Knight Syrena Exan, and for a brief period with Knight Alkur Tekiel during Knight Exans long absence. During his training he encountered strange and powerful creatures, dealt with thugs on his home planet of Lok, and successfully detered a Dark Jedi from entering the temple grounds. He is a trustworthy friend to his peers, and a great role model to the aspiring youths in which he interacts with each day.

The Council congratulates Kaelen Sekura for all he has done, and acknowledges that he has the skill, determination, and spirit to uphold the duties of a Knight. May he pass down all that he has learned and inspire future Jedi to lead their lives in the Light of the Force.
