276.31 // Takeover of Turbolaser Tower Leads to Successful Invasion

Following the stunning success of the Wookiee blockade against Trandoshan forces, rapid talks of peace began to thunder in the chambers of the Senate on Coruscant before more action would occur. Despite the passion of the politicians to end this conflict as soon as possible, a problem lay in the number of proposals, which ultimately led to a failure to come to a middle ground before a second invasionary force was sent from Trandosha.

Though smaller in size compared to its predecessor, the Trandoshan fleet was minutely less formidable. By learning from their tactical mistakes in the past, the maneuvering was more successful on the part of the Trandoshans. Even still, the Wookiee blockade remained stalwart in its defenses, reluctant to give any space to their enemy. However, the decisive variable of the battle would not be found in space, but rather on the earth of Kashyyyk itself.

276.30 // Jedi Arrested in Triple Homicide Case

From Emperor Palpatine to Darth Rishi, many atrocities have been committed in the galaxy by the hands of Jedi. Despite the rising favor the Jedi have garnered with the public in recent years, and their message of justice and pacifism propagated by the Order’s higher ups, heinous acts still regularly occur at the hands of the “chosen ones.”

276.28 // Mass Invasion Pushed Back in Failure

Failed Invasion

Trandoshan Forces Fail to Break The Wookiee Blockade

As expected, the government of Trandosha took little time to send a large invasion force towards Kashyyyk following the failed flails at diplomacy earlier in the cycle. With seven capital-class ships anchoring the impressive fleet of hundreds of fighters and frigates, the Wookiee world was facing more than terrible odds in its chance to defend itself from the inevitable attack. Forming a defensive blockade half the size of the invading force, Kashyyyk was all but living on a humble prayer for victory.

What was not expected however was the subsequent defeat of the Trandoshan fleet and its retreat back home. Amazingly, the numerically inferior Wookiee blockade out-strategized the attackers with reported wise maneuvering. Unable to break through the defenses, the Trandoshan fleet soon found itself vulnerable, as the flanks of capital ships became exposed. Following the loss of two of those ships, an order of retreat was given out, as every single Trandoshan ship turned back in defeat.

With an unlikely pause of warfare this early in the conflict, the Senate Chambers on Coruscant are bustling with talks on how to swiftly end the conflict before further clashes occur. Though both Senators from Kashyyyk and Trandosha are keen to come out of this cleanly, their home governments hold more animosity towards each other, effectively making a potential solution hard to obtain. Stay tuned as new developments arise.

276.27 // Negotiations Fail, War in Sight

Negotiations on Kashyyyk have failed perhaps inevitably, as blood has been drawn following a short skirmish with both sides participating. Reports state that talks were ceased following a proposition agreed upon by all participants to settle the conflict through a duel of honor. Curiously, the battle was between Representative Narachkt of Trandosha and one of the unnamed Jedi diplomats, rather than including a representative of the Wookiees. As this is but one present curiosity among many, and that we are relying purely on the military release, we do not seek to explain the occurrence.

What we do know however are the results of combat. With dozens dead on both sides, the Wookiees managed to drive the contingent of Trandoshans from the beachhead, leading to an ultimate retreat by the temporarily defeated. Representative Randaar of Kashyyyk escaped injury along with one Jedi, while the other suffered several gruesome injuries from the fight, though none serious enough to take life. The only casualty on the side of the Galactic Alliance was 1Lt Vex Averin, whose death is said to have been caused by crossfire. Lieutenant Averin was regarded by one Jedi to have done all he could to prevent bloodshed, though he ultimately failed in doing so.

Federal troops have withdrawn back to Commenor in anticipation of a larger invasion of Kashyyyk forwarded by Trandoshan forces. It seems the Galaxy will have to watch and wait to see the results of this unfortunate conflict between two formerly-allied systems, as blame currently lies on fate.

276.25 // Battle Erupts in Okikuti

Kashyyyk Battle

Battle Erupts on the Banks of Lake Okikuti

It seems the inevitable has finally occurred, as official Trandoshan forces landed upon the prominent Wookiee city of Okikuti, engaging the local population in an act of war on the banks of its locally prominent lake. Due to the recent rising tensions, the Wookiees responded quickly with anti-spacecraft fire, though multiple landing parties landed successfully. Thus began the start of a bloody an passionate battle that caused hundreds of deaths upon rough estimates, as it continues on as this report makes it to Galactic HoloNews.

All official media has since been driven away from the area, as professional Galactic Alliance troops from Commenor have been sent in an attempt to stop the warring peoples before more conflicts erupt. Coruscant has officially condemned the apparent acts of war between two planetary states of the same union, effectively confirming a true embarrassment for the largest federal republic in the Galaxy. This marks the first real conflict in the Galaxy since the dark Jedi Rejok’s rebellion was squashed some five years ago; though unlike the ending of Rejok by Alliance commandos however, cutting off the head of the leaders is not an option to end this conflict quickly.

In addition to the forces sent from Commenor, the currently controversial Jedi Order has been contacted to send diplomats in hopes for bringing peace. We will keep you updated as this series of poor events continues.
