277.30 // Travel to Northern Commonwealth Territories Suspended, Galactic Alliance Reluctant to Send Military Aid

Commonwealth Battle

Commonwealth Warships Engaged in Battle

As the Commonwealth continues to receive a pummeling from assumed Chiss naval forces, hyperspace travel to the in-battled territory has all but been suspended due to the unpredictability of erupting battles within the region. Travel lines such as United Space and Trans-Galactic have complied with the warning issued by the Galactic Alliance to evade potential danger, further isolating Commonwealth citizens from the rest of the Galaxy.

While the Galactic Alliance has provided aid to the Commonwealth in the tracking of invading forces, it has nevertheless remained reluctant to provide military aid to the region, despite the imploring of Prime Minister Paol Selanne to receive help from the allied federation. While there has been no official reasoning for this decision to reserve troops, military and government analysts suggest that the on-going rebellion of Trandoshan forces on Kashyyyk may be causing the apparent inaction on the part of the Galactic Alliance.

The decision to reserve aid to the Commonwealth has at its best strained relations between the two major governments of the Galaxy, though Prime Minister Selanne remains confident that the Alliance will eventually realize the gravity of the situation and subsequently become more involved in the defense of the region. Galactic HoloNews received no further comment from either faction on the matter.

277.27 // Chiss Forces Extend to Generis

Generis Jedi

Battle Aboard the Generis Orbital Base Reveals Chiss Forces Engaged with a Jedi

We have just received word that Chiss military forces have successfully invaded the Generis system and subsequently taken over all military operations by infiltrating an orbital base outside of the planet’s atmosphere. This photo of a Jedi in-battled with Chiss soldiers, taken by a base droid and sent to Commonwealth military command, is the only evidence of invasion outside of rough distress calls sent out before all communications were subsequently cut off, presumably by the Chiss.

If validated, this demonstrates the apparent indomitable success of invading Chiss forces, as in order to have reached Generis, the planets of Morishim and Ord Biniir would undoubtedly have had to fall. No reports about the two aforementioned planets have reportedly been received by the Commonwealth, which is currently chilling as well as enlightening. Our military analysts have strictly concluded that this is indisputably an act of war by the Chiss Ascendancy against the Commonwealth, as the necessary estimate of resources required for the success of this invasion could only have been acquired through official government sponsorship.

While the Chiss Ascendancy remains quiet on the matter, all seems to have been revealed as at least four planets have fallen in less than a cycle’s time. The Galactic Alliance has since offered its services to the Commonwealth to report any happenings within its territory, though currently it seems nobody except the Ascendancy truly knows the extent of which its forces have expanded. Keep watching GHN as new developments inevitably arise.

277.26 // Mygeeto All But Lost to Invading Forces, Legitimacy of Chiss Involvement Still in Question

Mygeeto Battle

Destructive Evidence of Battle on the Outskirts of Jygat, Likely a Product of Artillery Fire

To begin, we would like to apologize to the residents of planets within the Gordian Reach, as it seems our latest transmission regarding prior events on Mygeeto were not received completely by most receivers. In recap, Mygeeto was reported to be invaded by Chiss forces, and that Commonwealth forces had been sent to recapture the planet. However, in the short time passed since our first report, rumors and various photos have added to the argument that Commonwealth forces have been steadfastly defeated, with death tolls already in the tens of thousands. However, these few reports are all that GHN, and even the Commonwealth itself, can use in order to extract information.

It seems Commonwealth forces outside of the immediate area of Mygeeto are at a loss in terms of identifying the amount of Chiss forces present in the invasion, in addition to the actual legitimacy of these forces being of the official order of the Chiss Ascendancy. Most transmissions out of Mygeeto have presumably been intercepted, leaving military command on Telos, let alone Naboo on the other side of the Galaxy, in a state of utter confusion. While the Ascendancy itself continues to remain silent on the matter, Galactic Alliance intelligence has only reported that on 277.24, invading forces crossed free space in Alliance territory, subsequently dropping out of hyperspace upon reaching the Commonwealth planet of Mygeeto. While this report seems to be legitimate, analysts have cast the supposition that the Alliance may be withholding information from the rest of the Galaxy.

277.25 // Civil Disorder on Mygeeto

Following a distress signal issued by a vessel registered to the Commonwealth last standard afternoon, GHN has learned that a military strike has cost the lives of many Commonwealth soldiers stationed on Mygeeto. Eyewitnesses say that the battle “included a large band of Chiss militia”, although the extent of their involvement is unknown.

The Chiss Ascendancy has provided no comment on the alleged attack, but government heads on Naboo have assured the public that while Mygeeto has suffered a disturbing attack, forces were in transit to recapture control of Mygeeto.

Relief agencies currently at work in Mygeeto have fled in panic. Th- – …  [Connection Severed]

GHN LiVE

GHN LiVE at 2100

Welcome to GHN LiVE, where we cover the biggest stories of the day and give you the facts without the spin. Let’s take you around the Galaxy in less than two minutes!

Jedi Temple, Galactic City, Coruscant – Protestors gather on the steps of the Jedi Temple over controversy surrounding multiple grievances committed by Jedi Knights throughout the Galaxy, including most prominently the recent murder of Mandalore Jhil Beviin. Shouts calling for the disbanding of the Jedi Order on Coruscant were a constant as police forces kept the crowd at bay. Only one arrest was made in the form of seizing a violent Human man who launched a large container of alcohol at a passing Jedi Padawan.

Rwookrrorro, Kashyyyk – Galactic Alliance forces are reporting consistent success against rebel battalions on Kashyyyk, as more and more of the aggressing Trandoshans are being pushed into the recluse of mountain strongholds. Alliance commanders say an end to the war may be in sight within the year, or even sooner if the elusive General Crerniss can fall into capture.

Jygat, Mygeeto – Aid 4 Mygeeto, a private relief foundation headed by chairman Kleiara Talish, is reporting significant monetary donations being taken in from citizens from all over the Galaxy. Amidst this notice of good news however, the organization is also reporting difficulties in extending relief to the poorest of Jygat’s inner city, as gang warfare runs rampant, a danger to citizens and relief workers alike. Calls for a boost to Jygat’s police force have been made, even so far as requesting the aid of the Jedi Order.

That’s all for tonight’s GHN LiVE. We report, you decide!
