278.14 // Jedi Approval Ratings Plummet, Aquitenne Hovers around 50%

Low Approval

Jedi Order More Unfavorable

A recent non-partisan poll released by our own political center at Galactic HoloNews shows the Jedi Order’s approval rating down from last year among citizens of the Galactic Alliance, demonstrating a dismal 16% (+/- 2%) acclaim. Amid the plummeting, citizens cite the Mandalorian declaration as the main force for disapproving of the historic institution.

With no official stance yet made by Chief Aquitenne on the recent conflicts, his own ratings have dropped from a comfortable 60% to a contested 50% since the declaration. Research proves this is primarily due to the Chief’s lack of a position on what other polls show as the most important matter for “the Galaxy as a whole.” The only mentions regarding the situation have been in the forms of supposed talks with the Commonwealth and assurance to citizens that talks were “making progress”. Many however remain skeptical of these claims.

While the Jedi Order may be facing tough statistics, it currently fares better than the Galactic Alliance Senate, which has earned a horrid 9% approval from its constituencies from the federation abroad. Analysts agree that Chief Aquitenne has most likely eluded the blunt of the surrounding criticism due to citizens’ historic disapproval of their governing body.

To conclude with a final amusement, the average approval rating for a specific planet’s representatives remains at a lofty 74%, despite the overall disapproval of the Senate as a unified body.

Agree to Disagree

Jamus Syndle - Ulu Leem

With the Galactic Alliance currently facing difficulty in coming to a pragmatic solution to the Jedi-Mandalorian conflict, we have brought back our hot-headed correspondents Jamus Syndle and Ulu Leem to debate both sides of the main argument for a brief segment. Current polls show that this is the most talked about issue of the time, and so we look forward to what they have to say on the matter.

Boys, you’re up!

278.05 // Commonwealth Citizens Rise Against Government on Serenno

Chiss Uprising

Chiss Citizens of the Commonwealth Engage Government Troops in the Capital of Carannia

The en-battled territories of the Commonwealth are now facing a new sort of enemy from within, as natural-born Commonwealth citizens of Chiss descent have organized against their own government in support of the Ascendancy’s cause on Serenno. This organization, calling itself the United Chiss for the Ascendancy (UCA), has reportedly caused much civil disruption and violence due in part to the sheer number of members, which is estimated to be in the tens of thousands.

While Ascendancy forces have not yet invaded the system, members of the UCA have substantially weakened the Commonwealth’s ability to organize, ultimately aiding the Ascendancy in its inevitable future invasion. Several communication depots and military barracks have either been abandoned or captured, as the site of urban warfare leaves Commonwealth forces hard-pressed in reclaiming lost positions.

Meanwhile, the Senate on Coruscant continues its heated debates in regard to the issuance made by the Mandalorians regarding the Jedi Order. Reports dictate that diplomatic meetings are being made with the Jedi High Council and the Parliament on Naboo to ultimately decide the fate of several Jedi institutions around the Galaxy. Analysts are still however at a loss at how this dithering will conclusively affect the future actions on the part of the Mandalorians.

278.04 // Jedi Knight Claims Responsibility for Death of Beviin, Surrenders Self to Mandalorians

Jedi Temple

The Jedi Temple

As more worlds continuously fall to the Ascendancy, the Jedi successfully make news following the destruction of the Dantooine Enclave, as a Jedi Knight has come out to claim responsibility for the death of former Mandalore Jhil Beviin. Ashur Ventissen, a male Rattatak from the Jedi Temple of Ossus, issued a statement to galactic citizens before surrendering himself on the borders of Mandalorian space. The motives for assassination are explained in vivid detail:

… I took it upon myself to end the life of someone that I saw as a true threat to peace in the Galaxy. The Mandalorian people were suffering from one who did not follow the tenets that we Jedi live by, and I could not stand by any longer watching a tyrant rule over her people like a power-hungry queen … I do not regret my actions, but I do claim responsibility for them. I was the one you saw in the garage, ending the life of its owner in order to provide my own cowardly escape following the murderous deed. I took to happiness that I was not revealed during the assassination of Mandalore, but now cannot stand the fact that I fled from justice.

278.03 // Dantooine Victimized by Destructive Invasion, Mandalorian Legions Responsible for Decimation of Jedi Enclave

Dantooine

The Planet of Dantooine

Flooding news reports have reached the Core that the Chiss Ascendancy has successfully invaded and taken control of the Dantooine system from Commonwealth forces. Offering little resistance, most settlements reportedly fell within hours, including the historic Jedi Enclave stationed on the planet’s surface. What appears to be more surprising however is the fact that Mandalorian legions were solely responsible for the destruction of the enclave, as it is estimated that hundreds of Jedi Knights were slaughtered with small minorities escaping the system before the structure eventually crumbled.

Amidst the shock, it is now confirmed that the invading Chiss forces have the sponsorship of the Ascendancy, as its leadership, along with the warrior elite of the Mandalorians, have issued individual statements directly to Galactic HoloNews to project to the citizens of the Galaxy following prior sending to other government institutions. They follow:
