288.23 // Siege on Serenno Lifted

Following a multi-cycle offensive, sources inside Coalition High Command have reported the Alliance fleet blockading Serenno has been destroyed. This is due in large part to the shrewd tactics of Ascendancy Admiral Bri’jien’nuruodo.

Bri’jien’nuruodo, who Chiss news sources are hailing as, “The Savior of the Ascendancy” has been making life difficult for Coalition Naval forces since his promotion to Admiral.

Even the Chiss, a race with a long and proud military tradition, have not seen a leader of this prowess since Grand Admiral Thrawn; and, Ascendancy officials have sought to capitalize on that fact to boost morale of its military and citizens. Already military and news sources have hailed him as the second coming of Thrawn, and have pushed him towards taking up the mantle in an effort to boost spirits in what has been a difficult season for the Ascendancy military.

Between the revolutions in the former Northern Commonwealth as well as the once strong Coalition counter assault, rumors of the Ascendancy’s weakening grasp on the outer rim were rampant. Now as the revolts quell, the Alliance fleet is being pushed back, and the face of the Ascendancy military has a new intimidating face, such rumors of Chiss weakness and beginning to be quieted.

Will Admiral Bri’jien’nuroudo really take up the mantle of Thrawn? Or is this just verbal intimidation and hype? And if it’s not, what will this mean for the rest of the Coalition worlds, as fringe planets fear Chiss invasion? Only time will tell.

288.21 // Massacre on Serenno

Sources inside Coalition High Command has confirmed locals in the small town of Spince on Serenno have been brutally murdered by Chiss forces.

Exact details are still unclear, but from what we could gather a group of local citizens, inspired by the recent uprisings against the Chiss conquerors, were able to obtain weapons and opened fire on a local garrison of troopers.

Upon chasing the dissidents into hiding, the troopers evacuated Spince and dropped several pods among the city. Those pods released an unidentified horde of beasts that tore the townspeople to shreds before hunting down the rebels. The brutality of this counterstrike has been referred to by those in government as the Spince Massacre.

Is this new type of chilling bio weapon a sign of things to come? How much further will the Chiss sink in their mad quest for power? And what terror will they unleash on the galaxy next? Only time will tell, but we here at GHN will keep you apprised of any and all updates as they happen.

288.16 // War Update: Setbacks in the Commonwealth Sieges

Despite early successes in the counterattack in former Commonwealth space, Alliance naval forces have been struggling to maintain the upper hand against Chiss military prowess.

Sources from inside Coalition High Command have indicated siege breaking efforts are being led by Ascendancy Admiral Bri’jien’nuruodo. Known for being the first Ascendancy Naval officer to be promoted to Admiral during the War of Attrition, Admiral Bri’jien’nuruodo has caused chaos throughout the Commonwealth sieges with his cunning and ingenious tactical prowess.

As the Coalition strives to liberate lands conquered by the Chiss invaders, the death toll is beginning to climb at a more exponential rate, leaving citizens across the galaxy questioning when enough is enough.

288.09 // Alliance Launches New Offensive into Chiss Space

In the wake of former Chief of State Aquittene’s funeral, leaders in both Galactic Alliance military and government leaders have met to discuss the future of the war effort on the fronts of the former Commonwealth.

Admiral Wilkinson of Coalition High Command has confirmed to GHN correspondents that Alliance warships have crossed into space formerly occupied by the Commonwealth, now under the iron fist of the Ascendancy.

Already sieges have begun on the border worlds of Borosk, Morishim, and Serenno. The Chiss fleet, that once stood as an intimidating behemoth of force, has been crumbling to Alliance cannons in the daring counter-assault.

“With the large amount of space the Ascendancy has conquered, it has significantly expanded its borders.” commented Coalition strategy analyst, Col. Taleed Dremine. “With little cooperation from the locals and subversive efforts from within, it appears the Ascendancy’s armed forces may just be spread too thin.”

With relatively few skirmishes between the Ascendancy and the Alliances in recent months, the new offensive shows a drastic escalation in the war. Therefore, though the early stages of the Outer Rim sieges look promising, the Coalition has requested new volunteers as well as veterans to re-enlist. With the help and support of the public at large, we at GHN hope we are seeing the beginning of the end.

288.05 // The House Of Serenno Mourns

It was announced today that the well respected, former freedom fighter Count Kaylluss of the Six Houses of Serenno, had passed away this evening at the age of 83.

Count Kaylluss was known for his persistent campaign to fight against the oppression his people faced at the hands of the invading Ascendancy forces which had made its presence felt early into the war. During this period Count Kaylluss was present at many Commonwealth meetings as he lobbied for resources, support and assistance to gain freedom for his people. However, due to the increasing pressure being put on the Commonwealth at that time these attempts were made in vain.

Many attempts were made on the Counts life due to the political movements and other uninvestigated notions, but Count Kaylluss was always a resourceful man making alliances with many militia groups and even an understanding with the Jedi Order. During these points the location of Count Kayllus was unknown and unaccounted for, but as a true hero to his people Count Kayllus worked tirelessly for the people of Serenno. To honour this bold act, a small bronze bust will be placed on a parliament building to serve as a memory but many speculate that this will not be upheld once the Ascendancy takes notice.
