348.07 // Reactor Meltdown Causes Ecosystem Damage

Dubrillion
An Imperium occupied outpost on Dubrillion appears to have had a reactor meltdown. The exact cause is unknown, but it was believed to be attributed to faulty equipment leading to several power surges. An emergency shutdown was attempted, but it seemed to pump tibanna into the fire as the saying goes, as it triggered another fatal power surge. The primary reactor conduit blew, spreading radioactive material into the atmosphere, and irradiating the planet’s oceans, as well as destroying the facility.

Experts are not yet sure how exactly this will affect life on Dubrillion, but considering it is mostly a water-planet with heavy rain, irradiated material is expected to spread quickly. It is unknown whether the Imperium will decide to provide an environmental relief effort in the near future, as well as make any changes to the design of their reactors or provide any extra precaution to prevent radiation-induced sicknesses.

This coupled with the Imperium’s recent defeat at the Second Battle of Bastion and now severed ties to the One Sith has no doubt crippled their military infrastructure, but also their morale, and some may say their competence as a significant power. They have yet to make a statement about this event. But we will await one eagerly.

348.06 // Defeat on Bastion Prompts One Sith and Imperium Split

Bastion
The victory of the Galactic Empire and the Republic on Bastion has resulted in a split between the Imperium and their One Sith counterparts. The split was supposedly due to the death of yet another high ranking Sith Lord that has shattered the confidence of the Sith-Imperium coalition. The Imperium has issued yet another retreat and are currently struggling to cement their occupation over the neighbouring regions of four planets; Dubrillion, Plooma, Gree and Sernpidal.

Where the remainder of the One Sith has gone? This has not been confirmed. The current theory is the remaining Sith remnant has fled back into the Unknown Regions of space, but no intelligence has been brought forward to confirm this. The location of the notorious Dark Lord of the Sith also remains unknown, which has been the case throughout the entire duration of the war.

For now, Republic officials have rallied behind the effort to finish off the left over Imperium forces, remarking in an official statement that “if the Sith want to hide, let them”. Many atrocities are still being carried out by the Imperium in the small territory they currently occupy, making the “absolute defeat” the primary objective of the Republic and the Galactic Empire alliance. The Empress, who remains on Bastion to oversee the relief effort, has also declared support for ongoing cooperation with the Republic.

348.04 // Imperial Remnant and Republic Reach Agreement

JEDI Galactic Map

Throughout the war, the remnants of the Galactic Empire have been granted asylum in Republic space. Whilst making minor contributions to the war effort, the Empress has negotiated a treaty that would see the territory claimed by the Imperium and then liberated by the Republic officially returned to her Empire. In response, the Empress will commit her surviving fleet of Star Destroyers to a campaign that officials are describing will “finish the Imperium off”.

The Empress is currently on route to the planet Entralla where she will utilize her forces to establish order in her newly reacquired and war torn territory. Whilst there, the Imperial forces will await word from the Republic on when and how the remainder of the Imperium will be vanquished from Northern Space completely, including from the Imperial capital, Bastion, a planet the Galactic Empire’s leader undoubtedly wants to see returned to her the most.

348.01 // Holofilm still going ahead, despite Jedi’s best efforts to halt it

LNJUVX0

We have a news update on the most anticipated Holofilm of the decade ‘Withheld’! As of today, filming is officially underway, despite an effort from the Jedi to seemingly prevent it.

Director Tospol Picar spoke of the violence, lies and the bullying his producer experienced when touring the Jedi’s home on Rannon:

“Bwie spoke to several Jedi, who were happy to answer the positive questions but took exception to her trickier line of questioning. She told me of one particularly bittersweet moment, where she spoke to a young child who vowed he would never kill, lightsaber firmly clipped to his belt as he spoke. Moments prior, she had spoken to another student about the lightsabers being used as a tool of murder.

“It breaks my heart to say, events soon escalated and ultimately she was subject to a grievous assault at the hands of a crazed senile older member of the order. In the process of our visit, our camera was turned off by use of ‘the force’, and by the time we left, it was completely broken. Our cameraman, has left the project due to the stress caused.

“I myself met and spoke with Jedi Knight Vae, who was welcoming and accommodating. After a lengthy discussion, it sadly transpired that I overestimated his role in the events surrounding the plague. Although, he seemed slightly sketchy on the Jedi’s involvement with the development of the cure. As such, I have decided that Master Vae will no longer be played by famed Togruta actor Meritut Detta. Instead we will look for a cheaper alternative, possibly a human actor. That said, I would like to thank him for treating me with the respect and dignity his barbarian colleagues seemed to lack.

“Never in my career as a director, have I or my crew been assaulted for asking simple questions. The Jedi talk of peace, yet only Master Vae showed anything of the sort. I will not be deterred with this project, and just hope the Jedi choose not to seek any further action to stop it from going ahead.

“Thank You!”

His producer, Bwie U’nti, is currently in hospital receiving treatment for her injuries, but is expected to return to work shortly.

347.25 // Notable Republic Pilot to be Court Martialed

The first hand reports of the chaos that ensued in local businessman Delva Vekarr’s cantina vary from plausible to simply wild. The most popular story is that Republic pilot Hassim Matts, 28, got into an altercation with a local resident named Jaytu Tumanz, 23. Mr. Matts was touching down from the Republic fleet in orbit on what he described was supposed to be his day off. Evidently, things did not go to plan.

Witnesses report seeing Mr. Matts open hand slap Mr. Tumanz, momentarily stunning him as he took the advantage to beat him. The fight continued to steadily rise in aggression as Matts was able to retrieve his vibroknife, reportedly stabbing Tumanz four times before being pulled off by bystanders. Tumanz is currently in critical condition at the local medical establishment, whilst Matts is in the hands of the Republic Military Admiral Aaren Glehtara, rumors sparking that Matts is to be court martialed.

It is unclear as to how or why the fight broke out. According to the official release earlier today, Matts refused to say anything other than something along the lines of ‘The squinty eyed Rodian started it.’ If Tumanz recovers, the charges pressed against Matts will undoubtedly be less severe, though if he dies as a result of his critical injuries, Matts could easily face up to 20 to 25 years in a Republic Military grade prison.
