349.25 // Ando prepares for celebration

ando

If you have been meaning to visit Ando in the coming days, you will want to bump up that vacation. The Aqualish homeworld is currently preparing to view the Portage Moon Festival, an event that occurs barely once in a generation.

The thirty day celebration brings much of Ando’s commerce and trade to a halt, opting instead for feasts and public events. The Festival is named after the Portage lilies, which bloom yearly. However, the celebration only occurs when the titular lilies bloom at the same time as a double full moon, accounting for the Festival’s rarity.

The last Portage Moon Festival, which occurred in 292ABY, received negative attention in the galactic media after a scandal involving the celebration’s most famous food: lily cakes. Traditionally a treat to be given at no cost to all festival attendees, some companies attempted to sell the food before being shut down. Local authorities have already released a statement forbidding the selling of the foodstuff and promise to enforce stricter regulations.

349.17 // Tax Hike Imminent?

corsucantstock

There has been a sense of uneasiness around the Central Stock Exchange on Coruscant in recent days as figures indicate a steady inflation that has been unheard of in generations. If the reports are accurate, these rising costs would result in a tax hike for all systems bound by the Equilibrium Agreement.

The Equilibrium Agreement was introduced in 302ABY and approximately seventy six systems currently adhere to the conditions laid out. Despite this, the scheme has often been criticised for its overgeneralizations and overreactions to market fluctuations. In fact, some experts cite the Equilibrium Agreement as the reason for Kobaria’s bankruptcy in 326ABY, the effects of which are still felt today.

CCFW approached a representative from the Central Stock Exchange for comment, but were refused.

349.09 // Local Man’s House Ransacked

An unexpected turn of events transpired one lonely evening in Little Creek Village, Rannon. Notable village elder Morgan Vill reports that his home was broken into and ransacked while he was away on business. He is unsure as to who is responsible or why this has happened, though he is certain that the criminal who did it will be apprehended in little to no time thanks to the top-notch Rannon security force.

Little Creek Village is indeed just that, a little village surrounded by a nearby creek, meaning that the suspect is likely to be in the village itself. Several things of note were reported missing, among them are: antique silverware, rare Wroshyr wood, and over 1,200 credits in other missing wares. The full scope of what has gone missing is still unknown as reports still come in from Mr Vill.

Authorities have released a suspect profile and are urging witnesses to come forward.

349.01 // Sith Leader Captured by Jedi Order

coruscant

News just in that a high ranking Lord of the One Sith has been captured and is on route to Coruscant for processing. This is the first we’ve heard of Sith activity since the defeat of the Imperium on Bastion, which resulted in the One Sith’s exile and the end of their coalition with the Imperium.

The Sith has been identified by the Jedi as “The Voice of the Sith”, the last high ranking Sith to survive the war besides the Dark Lord himself, and is already set to face trial with the other captives from the Imperium War currently in Republic detention.

However, these war criminals will not be trialed by the Republic High Court. Instead, a new court has been established co-operatively between the Senate of the Republic and the Galactic Empire’s justice committee. This great sign of solidarity shows great diplomatic progress between the newly established Galactic Empire and the Republic, showing that this war has brought these once rival factions together to see the One Sith and Imperium brought to justice.

348.22 // Coruscanti Boxing: Suissac Beats Yalc

arena

Last night saw the long anticipated fight between two living titans of force, Suissac and Yalc. The Jalrin recreation center was absolutely packed not more than two cycles ago as these two devastating opponents of the world of professional Coruscanti boxing duked it out.

It turned out that Suissac could back up his words against Yalc as he won soundly in an astounding five rounds by knockout. The bout was similar to their first encounter twenty-two years ago, when Suissac once again took the title from Yalc.

As nostalgic as it must have been for Suissac, some people speculate that such a sound victory would only be possible if Yalc threw the fight. One popular theory is Yalc was asked by underworld Coruscanti mobsters to rig the fight to rake in millions of credits.

Profits were high for this match, as most long anticipated matches are. Fans of both Suissac and Yalc were brawling long before the match actually took place and many continued once the result was announced. Reports indicates that at least eleven members of the crowd were escorted out of the center.

Suissac will meet with rising star Jkall next cycle to defend his championship belt.
