275.21 // Eseleno Unfound, Kosroa Indicted

Fugitive Eseleno

The recently exiled Jedi Knight and murderer Rinne’selen’omare has remained unfound despite strenuous efforts on the part of the Galactic Alliance to capture and bring him to justice. Reports have surfaced that the trail of the fugitive’s ship projected an abnormal hyperspace route through the Unknown Regions, supposedly running into several star systems if traveled. It is likely however that the signal was distorted in order to throw off potential pursuers, and with no reports of the fugitive arriving on the Jedi-occupied world of Ilum, it seems he has evaded justice for as long as he can keep his head ducked.

275.19 // Dorin Recovery Shadowed by Jedi Misdeeds

As Dor’shan and the rest of Dorin slowly continue on the path of recovery, the Jedi Order has made up a significant portion of volunteer workers, mostly made up of residents from Coruscant and Arkania. Just as the reputation of charity and commitment to galactic citizens was beginning to tranquilize the debacle of the Jek’tono Speeder Factory however, a Jedi Knight was witnessed murdering five Kel Dors in a described rage, flaunting triumphs of a successful completion of vendetta before escaping the system, heading untracked for the nearby Unknown Regions.

Jedi Knight Rinne’selen’omare, a 29 year old Chiss male from the Jedi Temple of Coruscant, has recently been identified as the murderer through a confirmation of security footage by government officials. In the captured series of events, the Jedi approached a group of five Kel Dor workers with an ignited blue lightsaber within a community square on Dor’shan. Though the audio was not of optimum quality, it was clear enough to display the murderer’s lone statement before viciously attacking the victims.

275.17 // My Retirement

After a long career at Galactic HoloNews, our own Spencer Colditch has decided to step down from his post as Lead Reporter following this short farewell address…

Hello viewers. It has been 36 years since I first landed a minor on-site sports reporting job at the ‘News, and I still remember crunching credits to afford my two-room apartment in the thick of Coruscant. Even though financial opportunities grew with my gradual promotions, my passion for bringing the latest information into your homes and workspaces was always the same. Strong and ever-lasting.

You may remember as well as I the times in which I was welcomed into your lives, from the time of Commonwealth Secession to the bliss of economic rise and fall. Know that from my time spent here I have grown in many facets of life and that I have made many friends. And, perhaps, some enemies. Being on screens shown around the Galaxy was always a dream of mine as a child, but I could not have even fathomed the memories I would gain throughout the years. Though, all passions must eventually be put aside for new responsibilities. With the recent arrivals of grandchildren, I feel the need to dedicate more time towards enjoying the love of my family, including the blessings of my always-supportive wife, Jennei.

With this, I give my final farewell to you. Stay vigilant, and good evening great Galaxy.

275.15 // Dust Storms Ravage Dor’shan

Startling news today out of the capital of the Dorin system reveals the effects of extraordinarily intense dust storms that lasted a period of one and a half standard days. With top wind speeds measuring past an eleven (11) on the Rivoc Scale, the strong structures meant to properly defend against fortuitous wind speeds gave way in their holdings. Several dust storms filled with high amounts of debris began to eat away at the most stalwart of structures, in addition to covering the streets in a thick blanket of filth.

While Dor’shan and the rest of the planet are no strangers to such storms, none of them have passed an eight (8) on the measured scale in over 900 years. Most structures remain intact, although many have been weakened to the point of necessary repair, including the historically famed Temple of the Baran Do. For those unfortunate souls caught in the storms’ wrath, survival would not be ensured, as it has been estimated that 240 persons (mostly homeless) perished in the tumult.

Damage costs range from 1.5 to 4 million credits, and the death estimates may rise as more bodies are uncovered from the streets. Acts of altruism have already been made as several relief groups from across the region have joined in the recovery effort. We at Galactic HoloNews have also made a very generous offer of 5,000 credits towards those in need of it most on Dor’shan, an act we do not wish to be laureated.

275.13 // Jedi Responsible for Damages

Ah, the Jedi Order. So mysterious, historic, powerful, humble, and peace-loving. For thousands of years the Jedi have stuck their noses into the business of the Galaxy, at times for the better, but in other instances for the worse. Recently on Coruscant, the negatives and imperfections of the Order were demonstrated when, in a pursuit of an apparent law-breaker, the Jedi individual caused a factory shut-down due to mechanical damages caused by recklessness.

The recently-Knighted Layto Kosroa pursued a rogue criminal who had just stolen some credits from a local patron. A just chase to begin soon devolved into a quagmire as the criminal entered the Jek’tono Speeder Factory in hopes of losing his pursuer. In his attempts to apprehend the criminal, Kosroa inadvertently stomped on a control terminal in what was described by a worker as a “large leap” towards his target. The commands entered acted quickly as many a mechanical arm swayed out of control and eventually split off of their groundings before the workers could stop the destructive actions. The breaking of the mechanics set off a chain-reaction of failing systems and sparks flying, effectively blinding one unnamed worker.
