JEDI HoloNet

277.21 // A Journalist’s Perspective

As I looked upon the funeral proceedings of the fallen Mandalore, a sense of sorrow came upon me like the thrusting air of a winter storm acquainting itself in surprise. Though I felt sadness for the death of a popular figure, the whole scene of seeing other galactic leaders such as Aquitenne and Selanne implored me to think on the broader scale of our civilization. From a distant view, the Galaxy is prosperous. There is relative peace in comparison to war, and grand economic prosperity in comparison to financial ruin. While most of us carry with us this particular perception, the minority of negativity within existence should still be recognized with respect. While Corellia houses the needy and saves lives, events on Kashyyyk tear out the hearts of thousands. While Bastion witnesses the rising of new businesses, Mygeeto struggles to barely keep half of their institutions aloft in mediocrity.

We turn a blind eye to the worst in the Galaxy, but we are naturally predisposed to do so.

277.18 // Mandalore Assassinated at Hands of Jedi

Jhil Beviin

Jhil Beviin: 240.11 - 277.17

Breaking and unfortunate news has just hit our stations in the Outer Rim territories. It seems Jhil Beviin, head of state and warrior monarch of the Mandalorian race, is dead by means of assassination from an unidentified Jedi on the planet of Bandomeer, executed yesterday evening.

Shockwaves have quickly penetrated across the region and Galaxy as revelations of the death of the befallen leader rapidly enter the startled minds of galactic citizens. On-hand reports say that during a routine speech being dictated to Mandalorian citizens, a cloaked Jedi blasted through the dense crowd of spectators armed with an ignited blue lightsaber in hand. Though guards and servicemen alike quickly fired upon the approaching aggressor, the volleys from their blasters were steadfastly deflected and reflected in stunning fashion. Before any new attempts at stopping the Jedi could commence however, the Jedi sprung onto the podium and, with a single strike of the lightsaber, decapitated Beviin and ended her life with planned intent. The assassin quickly escaped the scene in a blur, and despite efforts to prevent their fleeing of the system, mounted a starfighter and blasted out of the system, using the paralysis of the stunned crowd to their advantage.

Efforts to catch the fleeing assassin in space have regrettably failed, as the time of departure and subsequent pursuit were too far-spread to permit accurate tracking. The face of the Jedi was never revealed, and only by the structure of their body did spectators assume that the killer was most plausibly a well-built man.

277.16 // Destruction of Base Grants Momentum to Galactic Alliance

Trandoshan Base

Trandoshan Base Set Ablaze from Turbolaser Fire

After many failed attempts at dismantling a particular rebel base’s shield generation capabilities, Galactic Alliance forces successfully penetrated the depths of the structure and disabled the intimidating heart of the technology following the surrender of Trandoshan inhabitants. As seen in released photos after troop evacuation, the fortification was soon fired upon by turbolasers from orbital support in order to prevent recapture. The photos, taken by survey droids, demonstrate the initial volleys of fire setting the fortification ablaze before the structure eventually crumbled.

Following the momentous destruction of the base, rebel forces within relative vicinity immediately surrendered, devoid of their once-protective shielding. While the taking of these bases have proven arduous, Alliance command has remained staunch in its strategy to eradicate them for victory. Despite the destruction of this prominent foothold and subsequent enlightening of morale however, rebel forces still retain multiple fortifications, as well as isolated command areas within the mountainous regions of the planet. The capture of General Crerniss has also proven to be extremely difficult.

All in all however, this stands as a significant victory for the Galactic Alliance and Chief Aquitenne, whose political success remains tied with the outcome of this military expedition. Stay tuned as new developments unfold.

277.14 // One out of Three Jygat Citizens Live in Vicinity of Gangs

Mygeeto

The Planet of Mygeeto

While the Galactic Alliance faces its militaristic problems on Kashyyyk, the Commonwealth faces its own challenges in the form of its economically-suffering northern territories. Highlighting the once-prominent world of Mygeeto, monetary downturns of banking systems have shaped its capital city of Jygat into a bastion of gang warfare, as Muun and Lurmen populations raise speciesist tensions over trivial disputes.

Though a significant population of Jygat remains in a high standard of living, the economic recession has shrunken its middle class to relatively negligible numbers, as the poor and homeless populations continue to rise in the sunken city. Statistics show that one third of Jygat citizens are affected by gang warfare in their everyday lives.

Despite monetary bailouts being sent from the government on Naboo to banking establishments across the planet of Mygeeto, there has been little visible change in the form of creating a more secure environment for Mygeetans, which has caused much political flack to be inflicted upon Prime Minister Paol Selanne.

Whatever the correct course of repair may be, it still seems to remain a long-reach away from the citizens of Mygeeto.

277.11 // Chiss Ambassador Meets with CoS. Aquitenne on Coruscant

GA Fleet

Chief of State Aquitenne with Ambassador Siladen

The premiere of the theatrical performance The Grand Vexation was demonstrated before two important men of the Galaxy last night, as Chief of State Caden Aquitenne hosted Ambassador Ness’ilade’nuruodo of the Chiss Ascendancy in unexpected fashion. To the surprise of the attendants of the Odeon Theatre, Aquitenne entered with a large company of guards and seated himself on a prominent balcony moments before the start of the show, as the visiting ambassador placed himself to the left of the most prominent figure of the free Galaxy.

Unknown to the press, the Chiss Ascendancy had made private negotiations in the past cycle with the Office of the Chief of State to make a diplomatic visit to the Galactic Alliance to occur within the near future. To the credit of the parties involved, the only evidence of the visit prior to the arrival at the theatre was in the form an escorted shuttle landing within the premises of the Senate Building, as well as an increased presence of security prior to the show. Perhaps due to the traditional rarity of a Chiss dignitary visiting the main territories of the Galaxy, strict privacy in travel was reportedly the preferred method of the visiting party, much to the understood compassion of the Chief of State who made all the necessary arrangements.
