295.03 // Male Gran killed in fall at Alzoc’s Capital.

A body crashing through one of the private booths of the III Starships in Alzoc Capital was reason for much commotion this evening. Upon further inspection, the male Gran appeared to have been shot with a blaster at point-blank range before being launched from a high ledge.

Jedi presence in the area intervened within moments after the event took place. Eyewitness reports state to have counted as many as six Jedi on the scene, involving themselves in the entire happening. Reports from apartments further down the block mentioned to have counted at least three active lightsabers at some point during the encounter. Chief Lón of the capital’s security department had this to say:

“As was reported, we can confirm that an individual did indeed perish in a fall from one of the upper levels late in the evening of 295.01. We are treating the incident as a homicide and as such, cannot comment further at this time. We would like to ensure our law-abiding citizens that we believe this to have been an isolated incident, and are actively investigating the situation with someone already being brought in for questioning in connection to the incident. Our streets are still safe to walk. Thank you, that will be all.”

With no confirmation as to the extent of the involvement of the Jedi present on the scene we can only go by eye witness account of their activities before the incident was said to have taken place. Reports say that the Jedi were seen hauling equipment back and forth between the hotel where the alleged murder was said to have happened. This then transcends into madness as the Jedi became involved in a stand off high above the street levels. Soon after Alzoc medical and forsensic teams showed up on the scene cornering off the area where the alleged victim of the fall is said to have been. Rumours have it that one other victim was killed during the chase but this has yet to be confirmed in full detail.

We will look to keep you informed about this, as more comes in.

294.27 // Market Uncertainties

There has been trouble among stock speculators this week as the arms and defence industry has seen an downturn in shareholder confidence. Sources tell us that with the rumour of a possible down-scaling of all defense contractors within Alliance space, several companies that once flourished during the wartime are now looking at alternative means of production.

One such individual that has led the charge in production change-over is Ebon Raddyx, majority stockholder and CEO of Raddyx Corporation, who stated in a press statement earlier this week:

“Raddyx has been a household name in the defence industry for long enough. Now, in peacetime as well as during conflict, Raddyx will continue to bring quality products and competitive prices with our new agricultural line of products, as well as our new home decorator line. We’ve got excellent people in both fields that, along with myself, will continue to bring you the Raddyx standard of excellence.”

With tensions between the Chiss Ascendancy and the Mandalorians clans remaining above pre-war levels, Alliance military officials have been quick to dismiss concerns that this potential downsizing of the Alliance’s arms budget will have a negative impact on security within Alliance space. Speaking on GHN’s morning broadcast, Coridan Noy’fay, deputy leader of the Alliance’s ministry of defence had this to say on the matter:

“The security of Alliance worlds and their citizens has always been, and always will be our foremost priority. Demilitarisation is a key part of the peace process and if that is successful, we will consider a similar gesture. Any future alterations to our military spending will be in line with the current economic and military environment.”

Economic advisors have latched onto this idea as a cornerstone of economic recovery in Alliance space. A full report on the state of the Alliance economy and how to improve it is expected to be released by the Galactic Economics Institute within the next cycle.

294.16 // Academy Heist

We’re now going live to Corellia where Rin Jaicup is awaiting word regarding a stolen piece of Corellian history, Rin?

“Thank you Ular. As you can see, I’m standing here on the front steps of the Corellian Academy Of Arts, where not too long ago one of the most expansive and unique pieces of historical art ever created by a Corellian, has disappeared. The painting, known as “The Defense of Kolene” dates back a several thousand years, in which time it has seen several long and expensive restorations. We here at GHN don’t wish to guess the fate of this painting, but we do have it on a reliable source that this was no small operation. The painting itself spans almost two-hundred square feet, and has it’s own dedicated viewing gallery. It was created during-…what? Oh, we have an entourage from CorSec leaving the building now, we’re going to move in and try to get a statement!”

“Ladies and gentlemen, as it has been reported, “The Defense of Kolene” has been misplaced from the exposition block of the Academy. Now, details are unclear at this time, but I can tell you this much: the painting was moved out of the exposition the same way that it was brought into the academy: through the skylight. After examination we’ve concluded that it was recently dismantled and re-assembled. We presume that perpetrators used a stealth-equipped transport big enough for the painting. At this time, there is no more information we can readily share, good day.”

“Mister Kiorl..Mister Kiorl! …Well, you heard it Ular, CorSec will have their hands full ensuring that this historic piece is returned in good shape. I am Rin Jaicup, GHN, back to you Ular.”

293.20 // Volunteers Needed

My friends and brethren,

The Temples on Ossus and Dantooine have been in a state of ruin the last several years, with most of their residents having been slain in the Mandalorian attack or forced to evacuate off-world. With news of the cease-fire, we have decided that the time has come to re-build our temple walls and continue our traditions of training and teaching.

These goals are not, however, something that we can attain on our own. We have many students without Masters, many of them with little understanding of what happened to their former teachers. Combine that with our limited resources and manpower, and what remains is not a very pretty picture.

We ask that any willing and able-bodied Jedi, Knight and Student alike, lend their hand in re-establishing our Enclave. Those who wish to sign on should contact their local Exploration Corps representative, or simply respond to this message. The Council will then inform those able volunteers who are permitted to aid in this effort.

May the Force be with us in this time of restoration.

Jedi Master Nagu Ponst,
Jedi High Councillor
