282.19 // Coalition on the Upswing?

Coalition Assault

Coalition Assault on an Ascendancy Warship

The attitude of Coalition High Command seems as elevated as ever.

If one were to gain unlimited access into the heart of the Allied Strategic Center on Coruscant, their eyes and ears would most likely perceive a buzzing optimism from the top Generals at work– at least, this is what the media has been lead to believe. With several statements like this coming from Lieutenant General Elika Beutel, we would find ourselves hard-pressed to offer any substantial counters to this convincing assurance:

Our morale on the battlefield is high… which reflects our recent string of successes in containing the Mandalorian and Chiss offensives in the Outer Rim. Finding themselves disgruntled at Mon Calamari (which itself remains strong), the Mandalorians have become dismayed and more inclined to more desperate tactics in attempting to encounter victory, serving our strategic officers well. … The Ascendancy presence in the Commonwealth is becoming more and more temporary following several successful counter-attacks, in addition to the alleviation of pressure in the former Northern Commonwealth territories. The enemy’s resources have been stretched thin– and we are taking the advantage.

If one were to avoid skepticism, this piece of news should be quite encouraging and tasteful to the senses. After all, a military upswing for the Coalition can only mean a closer upswing for the economy and going back to our normal ways of life? Unfortunately, that is probably not the case. Whether or not our military is gaining ground is perhaps irrelevant, as the economy continues to tank and millions of citizens lose their jobs by the day. Even if the war were to end today, which it will not, there would an unprecedented effort needed to reconstruct worlds, inspire confidence in a post-war economy, and re-establish lost political connections in what would be formerly-conquered worlds.

Another thought: could we expect the former territories to repatriate so easily to the Alliance and Commonwealth? Will we see many new nations spring up, taking advantage of the wearied Coalition? Would war then follow under the spear of Chief Aquitenne, who is beginning to appear more in-line with Feksk than Megana Tin? Also, would we be strong enough to subdue the current enemies of the established Galaxy and prevent a second devastation?

We must always keep a sane mind and a proper context, even when the going seemingly gets good. For now however, we must take the hope of this supposed turning of the tide and grant it the greatest support possible. It is better to face the problems of the future rather than suffering under a possible subjugation by those more cruel.

282.17 // Personnel transfer

It is with pleasure that we announce the return of a comrade, in the form of Ralsheend Jhurask.

While the population of the former Praxeum of Yavin-IV was located on Dac, Ralsheend was an associate and ally of the JEDI Order. He left us to take part in a special operation and returns to the order as a Jedi Knight, having trained previously on Dantooine and Bastion.

The time has come for Ralsheend to answer the calling of the force and to serve the JEDI Order once more. With this in mind it is with open arms that we welcome him as a Jedi Knight of the Alzoc-III Enclave.

For those of you who remember Ralsheend, we hope that you will help to make him feel at home with us again. For those of you who will be meeting Ralsheend for the for very first time, we encourage you to greet our brother freely and to make an effort to get to know one another.

Best wishes to our latest addition.

282.10 // Galactic Economy Mirrors Its War as Stocks Nosedive

Corporate Markets

Corporate Stocks Plummet

Uncertainties in the galactic economy have peaked at the highest point in decades, as news regarding the Corporate Sector has steadfastly raised the fears of traders and corporations alike in regard to their monetary viability. According to statements gathered from Coalition High Command, the sector remains completely isolated from any exterior fleets, though the main reasoning behind the current downturn lies in the fact that all communication with Coalition forces have been lost, apparently within the timeframe of a cycle. Chief Aquitenne commented on the situation briefly while enjoying his vacation on Spira:

We are doing everything within our power to inspire confidence back into the economy by increasing government spending to relieve the businesses that make our nations great. I also wish to make it known that this is my top priority, despite the fact that this time was initially meant for rest and relaxation. I am still hard at work for my people.

Despite the significance of this current development, it is not the sole factor for the declining economy. The Coalition has been without the resources of Bastion, Muunilinst and Taris for cycles upon cycles, with Mon Calamari remaining a main target for Mandalorian forces. If the latter world were to fall, not only would the economy take yet another hit, but the Coalition would be in increasing danger of failing its mission to protect its own people and territories from harm.

It can be said that the political life of Chief Aquitenne lies squarely on the shoulders of enlisted minors. For, if the fears of the joint military governments would be realized at Mon Calamari, the most recent legislation will be deemed a failure by the masses, resulting in the enemy having an unprecedented advantage. Ultimately, this may pave the way for an even more tumultuous conflict, as the inner Galaxy finally feels the heat of the growing flames of war.

282.05 // Senate Measure 8062297C Passes Amidst Strengthening Pressures

Taris

Chief of State Caden Aquitenne

As only one of several controversial measures that have been proposed in recent years, Measure 8062297C (which would allow the enlistment of 16 and 17 year old minors into the ranks of the Galactic Coalition Military) seemed destined to be the first of its kind to fail. With its dismal approval among most Opposition Senators, the bill was morbidly laughable for a time, as it was often scoffed in the midst of more important discussions. However, as time went on and worlds continued to fall, a sentiment of reconsideration began to pop in luminescence over the heads of many politicians.

Eventually the process snowballed, as vote by vote Chief Aquitenne began to see his vision grow closer to reality, as it at last formed into the decisive 60% vote of approval, much in thanks to the maneuvers of conservative-leaning Moderates. In some form of irony, or perhaps simple sadness, it took the failures of the Coalition in order to create victory for its own Commander in Chief. Indeed, the debate at last subsided with muddled grudges and stammering disbelief.

While the measure keeps the Coalition Military a strictly volunteer force, many question if the influx of young men and women will make a significant impact in the war effort at all. Some contend that for many species the age is too limiting in physical and especially mental preparation for the horrors of war, while many say that the use of specialized droids would be more effective. Others take another path, procuring the possibility that the fault lies with the poor leadership of executive officers from world to world, and that the highest among them should be replaced quickly by Chief Aquitenne in order to gain a fresher outlook of the continued struggles in the Outer Rim.

Despite the second-guesses and pensive wonderings of civilians and politicians alike around the Galaxy, the fact remains that our lives are quickly changing in this tumultuous existence, and we should thus be ever more ready to embrace the possibilities of the vast expansion around us shifting verily in an instant. For, even in the greatest of moments, the history of our ancestors has strayed in single instances, changing the plural outlooks of this great civilization forever. Stay strong, fellow sentients. Stay strong.

281.31 // Personnel Transfers

As the Galaxy continues to see eventful times it is important to take care to note the smaller changes, as well as the larger ones which are more easily noticed. Even the smallest shift in circumstance can often have a large impact, and as Jedi we should be keenly aware of this. With that in mind, we bring you a few such instances to take note of.

On this date our friend and brother, Padawan Learner Garik Kelzim, has transferred to the Jedi Temple of Coruscant in order to expand on his training in a new setting. We wish him well, and he is sure to prosper as he continues his studies.

The Alzoc III Enclave has also been gifted with a new addition in Initiate Tyren Nayrus. He comes to us from Coruscant, having survived the tragic events on Ossus. We sincerely hope that you will show him the same warmth, courtesy, care and welcoming spirit that you have shown to our other brothers and sisters who came to us seeking sanctuary and guidance.

May the force be with both of these fine young men, and with us all.
