349.18 // Tax Hike Imminent?

corsucantstock

There has been a sense of uneasiness around the Central Stock Exchange on Coruscant in recent days as figures indicate a steady inflation that has been unheard of in generations. If the reports are accurate, these rising costs would result in a tax hike for all systems bound by the Equilibrium Agreement.

The Equilibrium Agreement was introduced in 302ABY and approximately seventy six systems currently adhere to the conditions laid out. Despite this, the scheme has often been criticised for its overgeneralizations and overreactions to market fluctuations. In fact, some experts cite the Equilibrium Agreement as the reason for Kobaria’s bankruptcy in 326ABY, the effects of which are still felt today.

CCFW approached a representative from the Central Stock Exchange for comment, but were refused.

349.10 // Local Man’s House Ransacked

Forest village Wallpapers copy

An unexpected turn of events transpired one lonely evening in Little Creek Village, Rannon. Notable village elder Morgan Vill reports that his home was broken into and ransacked while he was away on business. He is unsure as to who is responsible or why this has happened, though he is certain that the criminal who did it will be apprehended in little to no time thanks to the top-notch Rannon security force.

Little Creek Village is indeed just that, a little village surrounded by a nearby creek, meaning that the suspect is likely to be in the village itself. Several things of note were reported missing, among them are: antique silverware, rare Wroshyr wood, and over 1,200 credits in other missing wares. The full scope of what has gone missing is still unknown as reports still come in from Mr Vill.

Authorities have released a suspect profile and are urging witnesses to come forward.

349.01 // Sith Leader Captured by Jedi Order

coruscant

News just in that a high ranking Lord of the One Sith has been captured and is on route to Coruscant for processing. This is the first we’ve heard of Sith activity since the defeat of the Imperium on Bastion, which resulted in the One Sith’s exile and the end of their coalition with the Imperium.

The Sith has been identified by the Jedi as “The Voice of the Sith”, the last high ranking Sith to survive the war besides the Dark Lord himself, and is already set to face trial with the other captives from the Imperium War currently in Republic detention.

However, these war criminals will not be trialed by the Republic High Court. Instead, a new court has been established co-operatively between the Senate of the Republic and the Galactic Empire’s justice committee. This great sign of solidarity shows great diplomatic progress between the newly established Galactic Empire and the Republic, showing that this war has brought these once rival factions together to see the One Sith and Imperium brought to justice.

348.22 // Coruscanti Boxing: Suissac Beats Yalc

arena

Last night saw the long anticipated fight between two living titans of force, Suissac and Yalc. The Jalrin recreation center was absolutely packed not more than two cycles ago as these two devastating opponents of the world of professional Coruscanti boxing duked it out.

It turned out that Suissac could back up his words against Yalc as he won soundly in an astounding five rounds by knockout. The bout was similar to their first encounter twenty-two years ago, when Suissac once again took the title from Yalc.

As nostalgic as it must have been for Suissac, some people speculate that such a sound victory would only be possible if Yalc threw the fight. One popular theory is Yalc was asked by underworld Coruscanti mobsters to rig the fight to rake in millions of credits.

Profits were high for this match, as most long anticipated matches are. Fans of both Suissac and Yalc were brawling long before the match actually took place and many continued once the result was announced. Reports indicates that at least eleven members of the crowd were escorted out of the center.

Suissac will meet with rising star Jkall next cycle to defend his championship belt.

348.15 // Treacherous Arma Corporation?

The Republic’s legal branch makes a move to prosecute Arma Corporation. The Arma corporation, notably, creates cases for blaster rifles and clips. Arma, allegedly, made dealings with the “Sith Imperium” during the pinnacle years of the Imperium War. Arma’s been accused of treacherous war crimes in the past, but the Republic had no ground to stand on, because prior search warrants resulted in no evidence. On the planet of Sullust, their factory has been shut down for further investigation; in addition, their monetary assets are frozen.

Our source tells us G.R.I.D, Galactic Republic Intelligence Division, played a covert part in gathering evidence for an arrest warrant. The lead Republic prosecutor, Amura Shalstein, stated earlier today:

“G.R.I.D had no part in the recovery of evidence. It was gathered upon constant review of past information. There are logs of conversations and transcripts of business with the Sith Imperium. Nonetheless, if they did, the evidence would be protected under the “Patriot Act”. Were Arma defending their case by that angle would be a useless gesture. Do not not forget they are traitors, and the Republic government will exhaust every asset to ensure a fair, just verdict is made. Thank you.”

In response Arma’s lead defense attorney, Rhey Grok, had this to say:

“G.R.I.D had every part in the recovery of evidence! On 348.14 ABY, we received a report several of our employees were incapacitated and left in a crate. In addition, our camera feeds on that day were wiped clean. I will say, on record, my clients are no traitors to the Republic and New Imperial union. Arma has supplied the Republic with an abundance of supplies throughout the war, and allegations the patriotic Arma corporation is working with the sinister Sith Imperium are false! In our defense case, we will swiftly be able to prove that G.R.I.D was there at our facility, with no warrant, and in fact planted evidence to guarantee ProditCorp, a company whose lobbyists flood our capital, would come out on top!”

ProditCorp nor G.R.I.D has responded. The trial is dated to start 348.21 ABY. We will release information as this story develops.
