As another factory threatens to close, the third this year on the planet of Vohai, industrial unrest reaches an unprecedented level. In a leaked statement, spokesperson Carr Greenwill of V-8 Industries called Vohai an “unprofitable population”, which incited a huge wave of protests and tax avoidance among the industrial sectors of the planet. The memory of the massacre of Vohai City lurks over the people of Vohai like a violent spectre, and much of the planet remains resentful and aggressive.

Worryingly, the illusive terrorist group ‘People’s Will’ making a comeback last year as they announced their first public broadcast in over 3 years. Planetary authorities are publicly expressing their worry that industrial unrest may, once again, lead to a repeat of the violence almost a decade ago.

We spoke to a survivor of the Vohai Massacre, a now-unemployed Steel Worker Chiara Bu’cbhi, who gave us her brave story of that fateful and bloody day. “It was like the world just stopped, and suddenly everyone was dead around me.” Chiara told Galactic Holonews today. Now, Chiara is an industrial activist and union leader, writing her own book named ‘The Necessary Revolution’, which critics have cited as an aggressive and pro-terrorist, anti-Republic piece of literature. “We can’t let this happen again; I have kids that need me, but I need the credits to buy them food and clothes. It’s a joke how they treat us, just to undercut the trade we have with the Empire and Hutts. A joke. We aren’t slaves.”

With protests set to take place throughout the cycle until their demands are met, the situation remains unclear.

Last night, all eyes were firmly on the the Queen of the Core, Coruscant as it hosted the annual G-TAF (Galaxy – TV and Film) awards last night at the famous Sky Gallery Museum.

It was a who’s who of the Holo media industry, with faces from TV, Film and Radio all gathering to attempt to win a G-TAF, one of the most treasured prizes in the media and entertainment industry.

The final award and often most coveted ‘Unmissable TV Moment of the Year’ finally went to the Ono and Yuas show, previously nominated 11 times without a win, for their record breaking Jedi Special which aired only a couple of cycles ago.

It it believed that the episode which included a moment where a Jedi Knight was confronted by the mother of a missing child, improved remarkably public perception of the Order, as well as being directly attributed to preventing another attempted kidnapping.

On 386.08 ABY, the skies split open, the ground quaking as the Praxeum on the mountainside bathed the valley below in wondrous light.

While there hasn’t been any news as to the reason behind the extraordinary display offered to the settlement, many support the beliefs of a divination ritual or the figurative ‘ascension’ of one within the ranks of the Order. Of course everything thus far is postulation and hypothesis.

However, considering the tremors that followed through the whole incident, the residents of Kenzie weaved their own rumors about the phenomenon. Resident Drixler Guvber told us the following

Love, in all my years I have never seen anything like what happened yesterday. We’ve had earthquakes and whatnot before, of course, that much is obvious. But to see the valley bathed in the light of that beam. I’m telling you, my dog nearly went mental. My neighboor closed up shop, he feared ‘the end was near’. But yeah, the Jedi are friends, I hope everything is alright up there.

Will we ever find out what happened on the mountain? Will we ever know what started the tremors of the earth? Doubtful, but such is the way of the Jedi; has been since time immemorial. Mystery is a part of the people that reside over us, watching us.

Eris Canan, head of the Canan family, certainly wasn’t expecting to exit the Sanshur court in custody today after he was called before the bar.

Halla Wissin, the attorney responsible for defending the accused Troptur Reed surprised the court with a major revelation. She accused, with supporting evidences, Eris Canan of conspiracy against her client but also of the kidnapping of Reed’s daughter and selling her to Hutt slavers. Documents, security footage but a damning confession of one of Canan’s accomplice were all submitted into evidence. Eris Canan, who was caught by the local security forces (VSF) trying to escape during Troptur Reed’s arrest, admitted to taking part in the kidnapping though not in her enslavement.

A cold comfort for Reed, who was convicted of involuntary homicide, barbaric action and participation in a criminal association and will have to follow Canan’s trial behind bars.

We don’t know yet the motivations behind the head of the Canan family actions though rumors have already started circulate. One major explanation for his actions is linked to the Canan family’s recent and aggressive movement within the Vlemoth Port housing market. The Reeds always refused Canan’s offers for their property and people are pointing out that blackmail might have been a new method of persuasion for the investing family.

As you can imagine, as the skies have grown darker here over Sanshur, the mood has grown darker as well and people here are beginning to resign themselves to the possibility that they are witnessing yet another tragedy.

Whatever are the reasons behind those acts we can only hope that the VSF will be able to stern this recent crime wave.
