Citizens were warned today to avoid visiting Endan Nature Reserve, as a woodland blaze begins to spread.

Several eyewitnesses spotted smoke rising from near the Tooini River in the north of the nature reserve earlier today. Specialist fire fighting forces have already been called into attempt to contain the fire. As of yet, there are no reports of anyone killed or injured by the blaze and it is suspected that no foul play was involved in starting the fire.

Specialists predict that the fire should be contained within a few days and that Endan Nature Reserve should be reopened to the public again shortly after.

An unexpected turn of events transpired one lonely evening in Little Creek Village, Rannon. Notable village elder Morgan Vill reports that his home was broken into and ransacked while he was away on business. He is unsure as to who is responsible or why this has happened, though he is certain that the criminal who did it will be apprehended in little to no time thanks to the top-notch Rannon security force.

Little Creek Village is indeed just that, a little village surrounded by a nearby creek, meaning that the suspect is likely to be in the village itself. Several things of note were reported missing, among them are: antique silverware, rare Wroshyr wood, and over 1,200 credits in other missing wares. The full scope of what has gone missing is still unknown as reports still come in from Mr Vill.

Authorities have released a suspect profile and are urging witnesses to come forward.

The first hand reports of the chaos that ensued in local businessman Delva Vekarr’s cantina vary from plausible to simply wild. The most popular story is that Republic pilot Hassim Matts, 28, got into an altercation with a local resident named Jaytu Tumanz, 23. Mr. Matts was touching down from the Republic fleet in orbit on what he described was supposed to be his day off. Evidently, things did not go to plan.

Witnesses report seeing Mr. Matts open hand slap Mr. Tumanz, momentarily stunning him as he took the advantage to beat him. The fight continued to steadily rise in aggression as Matts was able to retrieve his vibroknife, reportedly stabbing Tumanz four times before being pulled off by bystanders. Tumanz is currently in critical condition at the local medical establishment, whilst Matts is in the hands of the Republic Military Admiral Aaren Glehtara, rumors sparking that Matts is to be court martialed.

It is unclear as to how or why the fight broke out. According to the official release earlier today, Matts refused to say anything other than something along the lines of ‘The squinty eyed Rodian started it.’ If Tumanz recovers, the charges pressed against Matts will undoubtedly be less severe, though if he dies as a result of his critical injuries, Matts could easily face up to 20 to 25 years in a Republic Military grade prison.

341.15 // Missing Exploration Vessel Found

After days of silence, the mystery surrounding The Ingo Star was solved today after members of the Jedi Order intervened in the rescue efforts. Although local holonews outlets have been sharing their theories of the cause of the freighter’s loss of contact, Naalia Exploration confirmed within the past hour. The headquarters based on Rintonne released a statement that the stranded freighter was the target of a software virus.

The Ingo Star drifted in space for approximately 26 Galactic standard hours after contact was broken. Today’s report indicates that there were no survivors at the time of rescue and families have been informed. However, the blackbox from the freighter was retrieved and analysed at an undisclosed location before being later verified by Naalia Exploration personnel. The company is currently preparing to recover the freighter, the statement claims.

Naalia Exploration also deny that the virus was a malicious attack, but confirm that the freighter might still be hazardous to those who approach it. Whether or not this is a ploy to deter scavengers remains to be seen.

The Ingo Star is the fourth vessel in the past Galactic standard year to lose contact in the tri-sector area. One of the more famous incidents, the disappearance of the Ayyn’reshal, is being made into a holodrama.

322.27 // Talz Gang Demands Humans Leave Alzoc III

Unusual news out of the Capital today, as a gang of Talz based in the Esk Borough of the city have offered an ultimatum: for all Humans and their genetic cousins to leave the planet immediately or face deadly consequences.

The farfetched demand comes without any prior notoriety on the part of the Talz gang, which is known as the “Homeland Esks” to local authorities. Up to this point, the gang, which consists of no more than two dozen individuals and has historically operated in relative seclusion, has been responsible for crimes no more heinous than petty theft. However, it appears that there has been a sudden change of focus, as the Esks may be seeking legitimacy amid plans by the Capital to completely renovate the borough, which would result in the temporary displacing of its residents—including the Esks.

In response to the issued threat, Captain Elros Khien of the Alzoc Security Forces assured citizens that there was little for them to fear: “In spite of the bravado, the Homeland Esks are no more than minor criminals whose pride has been upset by the loss of their claimed territory. Human and Near-Human citizens have nothing to fear for their safety and well-being, as we have deployed a supplementary unit of peace-keeping droids with a supervisory officer in the area to ensure no harm comes to any individual. Furthermore, the City Council has requested that I reiterate public knowledge that relations between the Alzoc government and the native Talz population remain friendly and co-operative as always.”

In conjunction with the press conference, the A.S.F issued a warrant of arrest for Oerl Tan, the leader of the Homeland Esks who is suspected of having issued the public threat. He is reported to have dyed, red fur on his head as a distinguishing marker. If you happen to see Mister Tan, please take appropriate action and alert the A.S.F. immediately.
