461.226 // Jedi Intervention Ends Child Slavery Ring in Eyat

Late last night, a Jedi Padawan and her colleague returned from a long operation that brought down one of Eyat’s most hidden criminal groups, an organization responsible for the prior spice dealings, now also known for trafficking children across the lower districts and sending them to the outer rim.

The raid took place in the city’s freight sector, where the gang had been using abandoned cargo depots as holding sites. According to officials from the JDD, the two Jedi worked tirelessly, and found themselves in a very awful predicament. The work that followed was intense, with one of them allegedly being captured. This did lead to them ultimately breaking down the gang, and giving more information on what else may be going on underneath the cover.

The Padawan, identified as Amani Tokoya, assisted in freeing more than one-hundred children. Her diligence in gathering what information she could with the investigation helped uncover activity on not just Duneeden, but Coruscant as well. One of the children, named ‘Phey’, who has been returned to her family described the pair as “Guardian Angels. Amani saved me. I thought I was never gonna see my mom again. But then she(Amani) got real strong all of a sudden!”

Officer Aevus Stown of the JDD spoke highly of their efforts at a morning press conference.

“Without them, this case could’ve dragged on for months.” Stown said. “Padawan Tokoya acted with courage and control. They saved lives last night, plain and simple.”

When asked about the Knight’s identity, Stown refused to give details.

“The Knight requested privacy, and I gave my word.” he added. “They didn’t do this for recognition. They did it to protect the innocent.”

The freed children who are without families are now receiving care through the Duneeden Relief Authority. Authorities believe the dismantled gang was part of a larger smuggling network operating along the Outer Rim routes, and investigations are still going on.

461.216 // Former Jedi Master Captured Alive After Failed Thanium Sector Gambit

Reports confirm a Republic cruiser was destroyed on the edge of the embattled Thanium Sector. The stolen vessel, commandeered by former Jedi Master Kudor Okun, was lost following a Jedi‑led intervention, along with the Sith ordnance seized on Corma.

It is understood both were destroyed before any artillery could be deployed and that the successful Jedi operation prevented what could have been a catastrophic loss of life.

Okun himself was taken alive and transported under heavy guard to Coruscant, where he now faces a suite of grave charges. Republic prosecutors have formally indicted him on: capital homicide, high treason, unlawful seizure of weapons of mass destruction as well as conspiracy and sedition.

Judicial sources indicate additional counts may be added as the investigation continues.

In the wake of the Jedi-led operation, 117 Republic officers and crew members were detained for questioning regarding their involvement with Okun’s plot. Investigators have confirmed that several of these defectors now face similar indictments, including treason and conspiracy, underscoring Jedi Master Amalia Feyn’s earlier warning that the crisis extended far beyond the Jedi Order itself.

While the High Councilor has yet to issue another statement, a spokesperson for the Order confirmed they will co-operate fully with any Republic investigation concerning the incident.

Secretary of Defense Arn Hulos, was stood down earlier this morning, with Chancellor Vekau Khorta issuing the below statement soon after:

It has become clear that trust in the Department of Defence has been shaken. I have therefore deemed it prudent that a replacement be sought. I will leave questions on former Secretary Arn Hulos’ professional judgement to the commentators.

Today’s revelations have left many wondering why so many members of the Republic military chose to defect. As dissatisfaction with Chancellor Khorta’s government continues to plummet, analysts believe his days in the top job are numbered.

461.210 // Crisis of Integrity: Republic Military and Jedi Order Embattled

Galactic Core, reporting from Coruscant.

A transmission from former Jedi Master Kudor Okun has spread rapidly across the Holonet, igniting fierce debate within the Republic Senate.

The message was first circulated through Jedi-channels before spilling into public networks, featuring Okun denouncing the Republic and Jedi Council as corrupt and complacent. In the recording, he calls upon others to join him in what he describes as a campaign of “courage” against cowardice, claiming to have seized ancient Sith weaponry to aid the Thanium Alliance in its war against the Stenax.

Galactic Core reached out to Secretary of Defense Arn Hulos, who declined to provide operational details but placed responsibility squarely on the Jedi Order.

We are deeply concerned that a Jedi Master would abuse their power and influence in this way. We eagerly await the Jedi Order’s formal response to Master Okun’s actions.

While his remarks stopped short of confirming ongoing military operations, his tone suggested a growing rift between the Republic’s leadership and the Jedi Order.

New information has also come to light that Okun acted with the support of Republic personnel, raising questions about loyalty within the armed forces. Sources have confirmed several defections of high-ranking officers, suggesting deeper fractures within the Republic’s institutions.

During Senate hearings, Chancellor Vekau Khorta did not respond to any questions regarding his past friendship with Okun. Instead, his office released a brief statement reaffirming “full confidence in the Chancellor’s cabinet and the Secretary of Defense” while pledging continued efforts to safeguard the Republic.

The Jedi High Council has yet to issue an official statement. While multiple senior Jedi were approached for comment, only Jedi Master Amalia Feyn responded.

The matter is being actively investigated. We will pursue appropriate action concerning Jedi Master Kudor Okun, and trust the Republic will likewise examine the systemic and institutional shortcomings that facilitated widespread defection.

Her remarks, while measured, have been interpreted by some observers as a subtle rebuke of Secretary Hulos’ attempt to shift blame entirely onto the Jedi.

461.122 // Loss of Vol Idol turns tide in Thanium

Above: Alliance Forces regroup after a massive push against Stenax lines in the Iverkal Range, Mossak

Camp Zatar – Kirstvel Bay, Mossak — The Thanium Alliance Defense Force (TADF) has confirmed the seizure of the “Stone Idol of Vol,” a revered Stenax artifact, in a special operation, the details of which are still classified. High Commander of the TADF Lagyanes Bendix, a Stenax himself, announced that the idol, which the Stenax believe to be an avatar of their god, Vol, is now in Alliance hands.

The loss of the idol is a major blow to the Stenax Empire, whose recent expansionist push is fueled by a zealous interpretation of their religious doctrines. Since the death of Emperor Hautrn, who sought peaceful reforms, militant leaders of the Covenant of Vol have claimed their conquests are divinely ordained. This religious fervor has driven the brutal Stenax advances on fronts across Mossak, Felucia, and Draukyz. Recent reports from the occupied planet Draukyz detail a horrifying and rapidly rising civilian death toll, a grim parallel of the Stenax Massacres four centuries ago.

In a press conference at Camp Zatar, Commander Bendix explained the critical impact of the idol’s seizure:

“Our cultural practices say we are only to use our wings when we are under the blessings of Vol. Without their Idol, the Stenax of the Empire will take this as a horrible omen… Tactically, this new advantage cannot be understated. The Stenax people, as a matter of honor, will need to swear off use of their wings until the Idol is returned.”

This tactical shift is already evident on the battlefield. Preliminary reports from the front lines confirm that Stenax soldiers are no longer using their wings in combat, a stunning development that removes a massive advantage the species holds over others.

While the fighting remains fierce, the loss of their primary symbol of divine favor has created a new sense of hope for Alliance forces. According to Bendix, the Stenax will likely intensify their efforts to reclaim the idol and Vol’s favor, but the strategic landscape of the war has been fundamentally altered.

“This is a massive win for the Alliance,” Bendix declared, “and we intend to capitalize on the new tactical landscape of the war.”

461.118 // Prominent Investigative Journalist Found Dead in Lower Levels

CSI Still - Journalist Tayven Rissar

Tragedy struck yesterday evening in the undercity of Coruscant, where veteran investigative reporter Tayven Rissar was found dead under circumstances authorities are describing as a “botched mugging.”

Rissar, 41 Human Male, had built a reputation as a relentless voice in the sector, best known for his work exposing corporate graft in the Corellian Trade Spine and the misuse of humanitarian aid.. Sources within the press community suggest he was preparing a major story involving religious institutions and their financial backers, though officials have refused to comment on the specifics.

The Coruscant Security Force reported that Rissar’s data-slate and notes were missing from the scene. When pressed, CSF spokespeople stated that “ongoing investigations prevent us from speculating on motive.”

Colleagues described Rissar as “fearless” and “unflinching,” noting that he had expressed concern over surveillance and unusual visitors in recent weeks. His editor, Deyna Halorr, remarked:
“Tayven believed in shining light into places others were afraid to look. He told me just days ago that his next piece would ‘shake the faith of the Core itself.’”

The Jedi Order, frequently a subject of Rissar’s criticism, has issued a brief statement of condolence from the Jedi High Council:
“We mourn the tragic loss of any life cut short. The Jedi stand with the people of the Republic against crime and violence in all its forms.”

No suspects have been identified. Officials urge calm, stating that violent crime remains rare in the mid-level sectors.
Funeral arrangements for Tayven Rissar are pending, though memorials have already begun across the Independent Press Guild’s channels.

Editor’s Note: At the time of his death, Rissar was finalizing an exposé on “the unseen hand guiding galactic institutions.” Whether this work will ever see release remains uncertain.
