Galactic Core, reporting from Coruscant …

A leaked report from the Galactic Republic Intelligence Division (GRID) has been circulated through senior Senate offices tonight, revealing previously undisclosed cooperation between the Jedi Order and Republic specialists.

While such collaboration is not uncommon between the Order and the Republic, details of the report reveal several unofficial investigations into the disappearance of numerous Jedi, and the destruction of a secret Jedi facility on Lyta.

The report also references the unsolved disappearance of Master Keln Varo and Padawan Tessa Ryn on Rhen Var—made public last year—stating that their case “matches the operational pattern under review.” Despite public silence, the Order has reportedly been working with GRID on these investigations for nearly twelve standard months, in what some have labelled a “breach of protocol.”

Chancellor Kalik Carr has defended GRID’s conduct, stressing that classified operations “remain essential in protecting intelligence operatives in their work.” Her office maintains that the cooperation outlined in the report falls well within GRID’s mandate to coordinate with any organisation capable of contributing to galactic security.

Her opponent in the upcoming Chancellor race, Senator Ryn Malvero, was quick to capitalise on the leaked report, arguing that “the Chancellor spends more time solving the problems of outside agencies than addressing the shortcoming of her own government.”

With the election looming, the criticism has sharpened into a broader accusation: that Carr’s attention is fixed on crises beyond the Republic’s jurisdiction while political instability grows at home.
