Vane Horne

Jedi Knight - Guardian

Homeworld: Mina-Rau

Species: Human

Biography

Vane Horne was born on Mina-Rau, a rugged, windswept world defined by its brutal winters, volcanic plains, and fiercely independent clans. Among his people, strength was measured not by dominance, but by restraint—willpower was currency, and none held it more quietly than the Horne family.

Identified as Force-sensitive at the age of four, Vane was sent to Ilum to begin his Jedi training. There, he studied under Master Shariin Vel, a Mirialan Jedi known for her strict discipline and austere philosophy. Ilum’s frozen wilderness matched Vane’s inward nature, and in its silence, he found focus.

His training focused on cultivating both mental clarity and physical mastery. In combat, Vane moved with calculated, glacial force—deliberate, unwavering, and unshakable. He favored Form V: Djem So, reinforced with brief bursts of Ataru, allowing him to balance raw strength with sudden precision.

Vane Horne walks a path shaped by echoes he does not hear.

Unknown to him, the Jedi Council of Ilum has long known of his ancestral connection to Jedi Master Rash Loist—a figure of legendary power and will. But they chose to keep this knowledge from Vane, believing that such a legacy might cloud his judgment or burden him with false expectations. As a result, Vane has grown into his own identity, unshaped by legend, and free of its weight.

Among his peers, Vane is respected for his calm presence, quiet strength, and rare clarity of thought. He never demands attention, yet in moments of uncertainty or crisis, it is he who others instinctively look to. His silence is not passivity—it is gravity.

When a request came from the Order to bolster the diminishing presence at the Jedi Temple on Duneeden, the Council offered Vane a choice: remain on Ilum, where he was deeply rooted, or travel to Duneeden to serve a struggling outpost in need of steady leadership. Vane chose Duneeden—not for ambition or recognition, but for purpose. A new place, new faces, and a quiet opportunity to make a difference.
