Solira
Homeworld: Omwat
Species: Omwati
Biography
A lot of races have their spin when it comes to the Force and the people of Omwat are no different. For eons these beings were called shamans, collectively using what power they had obtained for the good of the people, rather than their own petty needs. When the Omwati were opened to the ever expansive galaxy again, a lot of these traditions melted away, yet people still clung onto what was old and familiar, despite it being centuries. Solira’s parents were two of such peoples, touched by the sacred energy field. Each one of them holding a small niche each, her mother the prowess of foresight, while her father had control over healing. Nothing in comparison to an actual trained Jedi, someone might call it D tier.
Solira had an exceeding mundane life, she had friends and a fairly easy upbringing, living in the typical honeycomb settlements that littered the planet she was native to. She found a lot of interests that were typical for most of her kind, such as the adoration of the arts, especially when it concerned music. On the technical side engineering was the most ever curious class, more than content breaking apart items and usually putting it back together, if not her community was ever eager to pick up the slack. Not at all escaping the stereotype set for her species.
The force abilities were often a topic that her parents wielded was beyond the ability of the young Omwati to comprehend. Most of the time she would try to base it on logic, hurting her brain trying to wrap it around. Yet her inquisitive mind wanted to indulge in more of this formation about the Force. The lessons that concerned the larger galaxy did make a mention of the Jedi Order, who wielded it for the betterment of the galaxy. A possible destination that was bathed in cultures, knowledge, friends and other fun stuff that makes you feel fuzzy.
Her parents were exceedingly content to support every step of the way. Both of them had suspicions that Solira was force sensitive, just because the parents were. A midicloran test later and unsurprisingly to the readers, she was found to be sensitive to the Force. Shamanism wasn’t the only thing that was cooking on the planet, a Force custom after they joined the New Republic, which was considered the de facto on this honeycombed world. Seeing the benefit of sending her to the Jedi Order, they set in motion to have this all resolved for their daughter.
A meeting with the Jedi Watchman of the planet occurred, where they put Solira on display. While some people might have had limits when it came to her asking questions en masse, this particular person was patient as ever, in which they bounced back between a range of topics, even the weather of all things. After the conclusion of the session, she was officially invited to the order, with transport being arranged too.
After saying her goodbyes, gathering her tropes and making a promise to return one day, Solira was snatched from amidst her homeworld, off to colder pastures.
