Johan Tooler was born on the planet Weik, a world far off in Wild Space. Being sequestered from the original hyperlanes, it was nigh impossible to reach. Johan’s father, Zizka, who married into the family with his wife, Clara Janoo, was a knight of his liege lord Henush, and instilled early into Johan’s childhood the marks of chivalry, honor, and tenacity, grooming him to become a knight on his own. Johan had a sister and a brother, though they maintained the Janoo name. When Johan reached fourteen years, he was given the choice to join the Paladins of the Adamite Tower as a Supplicant. This was a prestigious honor, as the Force-wielding knights were warrior-judges, righteous and powerful. It was not to be, as the merchant caravan transporting Johan to the Adamite Tower was ambushed by raiders. It was pure fate of the Force that a Jedi Watchman had chanced upon the planet. He could not linger, for he saw that the world was far behind and he needed to return from Wild Space, but he could not ignore the child that was presumed dead and left by the raiders among the rest of the remains. Taken by the Watchman, Johan was ferried off of Weik, beholden to Hyperspace for the first time; it was a magic unlike anything he had seen. Ultimately, his journey would lead to Dantooine, where the displaced aspirant would join the Jedi Order. Two years later, the padawan transfers to Duneeden for a broader study of not just the Jedi, but of the Galaxy as a whole.
