Biography

Gaxett Kovir was born in 453 ABY, on the planet Kiffu, to his mother Merta Rivis and his father Vamrax Kovir. The Kovir a middling clan among the Kiffex; far from the heights of other Kiffex bloodlines such as the clan of Vos. Gax grew in the traditional manner of the Kiffex, learning fierce pride and determination in equal measure. He was gifted his mother’s qukuuf as a toddler, young enough he does not recall receiving the tattoos that mark him among Kiffex to be of Rivis decent.

Though their clan is not among the elite, Gax’s mother Merta exemplified to her son what it meant to truly be Kiffex; to embrace one’s clan and heritage with pride. Vamrax, his father, began putting the boy through tests of strength and fortitude early as was also custom to their people. Once he could speak it became clear that Gax was among those of their race gifted with psychometry. Speaking to ancestors he had never met when viewing them in memories replaying before his eyes. The ancestor changing on the object the boy made contact with. Most generally, on accident.

It was this realization that led to Gaxett being put into early training by the Council of Sheyfs. He began honing his understanding of his Force-sensitivity before the age of ten underneath the guidance of Zir Tas. He remained under the elder Kiffex mentorship until he began reaching his teen years. It was then it was heavily suggested to the Kovir clan that Gaxett would better hone his ability – and growth as a whole – underneath the tutelage of the Jedi Order.

After much discussion among their clan and with Gax himself; he decided to follow the guidance of his elders and join the Jedi Order. He began studying in the Order at twelve at Ossus Temple. After three years, Gax transferred to the Temple of Duneeden at the age of fifteen. The padawan himself is not quick to disclose the reasoning behind this transfer; however it was made clear to the Council from his elders within the Ossus Temple that it was believed Duneeden could prove a better environment for the growing Kiffex and a burgeoning, though well-meaning, temper. Despite his years of studying, the boy still struggled with controlling his temper as well as his psychometry. Often, he found it difficult to distinguish between the visions of the past and the current moment – still connecting unintentionally to memories held in even the most mundane every day objects. If it wasn’t this; it was keeping his rampaging emotions in check. Always fluctuating and unpredictable, Gax found it much easier to push these things aside, and inward, without proper processing or understanding of himself.

Gax, though he learned the traditions of the Kiffex early on and never forgot his Mother and her teachings, does not hold to his race’s usual belief of keeping their business and lives to only their race and theirs alone. He’s prone to still fall into old habits and thoughts, yet, he’s long held the belief of uniting the Galaxy and all it’s inhabitants since he began studying under the Jedi. This belief leaves him open-minded yet he often finds himself still closed-off as many of his race are. Even when he doesn’t precisely mean to be.
