Claude was born to two star ship engineers, Jacques and Kiera Varron, working for Kuat Drive Yards, His early childhood was unremarkable; Jacques was an expert in ray shield projectors, and Kiera held a doctorate in shield phase mathematics, so the two were able to provide an easy life of abundance for him and his younger sister, Éclair. As was standard procedure, blood samples for the two were submitted to the Jedi Temple at Coruscant for midi-chlorian testing. Shortly after his parents were approached by the Jedi Order. Surprised that their eldest son was strong in Force and honoured by the thought of him serving the noble Order, Claude’s parents readily gave him up at the age of 9 for training by the Order.
