Adept
On the rare occasion that the High Council feels a Jedi Knight is no longer capable of maintaining their duties, the Knight may be demoted to the rank of Adept. As an Adept, the Jedi will seek out training from various Jedi Knights and Masters, they may attend classes, and they may do their own private training based on texts found in the archives. Similar to a Masterless Padawan, the Adept is largely responsible for their own progression.
In due time, the Council may review the Adept’s progress and performance, and if deemed worthy, the Adept may once again be promoted to the rank of Jedi Knight, without having to undergo anymore one-on-one training with a Master.
