Lyssla Surr
Homeworld: Vahla
Species: Vahla
Biography
Born on the edge of the known galaxy, the boy who would become known as Lyssla Surr entered the world to quiet celebration. His parents, a young Vahla couple of the Surr family, had waited a long time for him. He arrived with the dark hair and deep purple eyes common among his people.
Like most Vahla, the Surr family lived a nomadic life. They moved from system to system aboard a modest freighter, taking on small transport contracts, repairs, and whatever steady work they could find. A steady rhythm of travel, docking, contracts, and moving on.
He grew up in the quiet rhythm of the freighter. Days were spent learning the practical skills of a crew; how to check a hyperdrive, secure cargo, and read a star chart. His parents worked, repaired, and bargained, and there was rarely time for more than the basics. Conversation was short. Evenings in the common area were usually spent in silence or with the low hum of the ship, rather than shared stories.
He learned early to keep to himself, reading old datapads, watching the stars through the viewport.
The Force was always there. Though not kindly acknowledged. Among the Vahla it was something to be respected. His people had long carried a natural affinity for it. His parents saw the small signs as he grew; a certain awareness that went beyond what most outsiders seemed to feel, a quiet sense of things before they happened. They did not celebrate it. They did not need it explained. They told him to keep it controlled and not to speak of it to outsiders.
Jedi were spoken of with quiet distrust, if they were spoken of at all. Old stories still moved among the nomadic families. The Force belonged to their blood. The Order did not.
That arrangement held until a Jedi encountered the family during a stop at a busy port. The Knight recognized what the boy was carrying. His parents did not deny it. They already knew. What followed was not a sudden taking, but a long and uneasy conversation. They did not want the Order involved. The Jedi did not leave the matter alone. After some convincing, they agreed to let him go.
He was taken to Duneeden.
