Saykr was born on 454.09 on Chagria, in a small coastal settlement nestled between the planet’s tidal flats and rocky shorelines. The village itself was unremarkable by most galactic standards. Its inhabitants made their living as fishermen and traders, their livelihoods dictated by the ever-changing tides. Like many born to the region, Saykr was raised with an appreciation for patience, routine and discipline. Quiet by nature, he often preferred observation to participation, earning a reputation amongst his peers as a dependable, if somewhat reserved, youth.

His sensitivity to the Force was discovered during childhood and, not long thereafter, he was taken to the Dantooine Enclave. There he was apprenticed to Jedi Knight Atherion Geist. For nearly two years, Saykr trained under Geist’s guidance, learning not only the fundamentals of the Force, but also the values of discipline, humility, and service that defined the Jedi Order. Though still young, Saykr came to regard Atherion as both a teacher and a trusted mentor.

The apprenticeship was cut tragically short when Atherion passed unexpectedly. As a young boy, Saykr was ill-equipped to confront the ontological shock of losing the man who had guided much of his life within the Order.

In the aftermath of Atherion’s death, the Council of Dantooine carefully considered Saykr’s future. Believing that remaining in the same environment would only deepen his attachment to the tragedy, they determined that a change of scenery would be beneficial to both his personal well-being and continued training. With this in mind, the Council recommended his transfer to Duneeden, where he would have the opportunity for a fresh start and a new chapter in his journey as a Jedi.
