Azern was born in a hospital ship in the expansion region. As he was born, the ship was being attacked by pirates who were trying to intercept their trade ship. By the time he was fully born the ship had been boarded. they could hear blasters go off, hearing people screaming. His mother demanded his father to take Azern to the escape pod, setting the hyperdrive to coruscant. As his was activating the hyper drive from the computer on the outside, a blaster shot had hit his leg, leaving him unable to walk. He continued setting up the launch when another blaster shot hit him near his left shoulder, leaving him to finish setting the launch before getting the fatal shot in the back. The escape pod launches, leaving the pirates to watch in anger.

Azern arrives in the coruscant system, eventually getting intercepted by a republic fleet. When discovered, He was sent to an orphanage on coruscant, soon getting adopted by a young pantoran couple, giving him a name “Azern Ochil”, he would not remember his real name or his real family and would believe his adopted parents were his real parents as they would keep that from him as protection.

His parents worked in the Financial District as powerful business owners and would one day be Azern’s. As a young child he was very vocal and friendly with others, sometimes too much. However, Azern never fully felt like he fit in with his own family. He would have nightmares of being alone and lost. Those nightmares would become real during a family vacation on Naboo.

Azern had never seen so many trees before, wondering off into the forest, the boy would find himself lost and alone. He started to cry and call for help. He looked for every way out but could not find one. it would eventually become night, it was pitch black, living only to sounds he had never heard before. As he sat on the ground waiting for his parents to find him, he started hearing growls in the forest. Azern jumped up, looking toward its direction. The growling got louder and louder. Azern started to backing up, only to trip on a twig. As he looks back at the direction of the sounds, he sees this big upper bodied creature with claws, sharp teeth. Azern freezes in fear. the creature jumps in the air, ready to attack. Azern looks away, throwing his hands out. Then he notices the creature in the air still. the boy, confused, gets to his feet and starts running away.

As he’s running, he hears a voice, “stop,” it says. Azern turned around to see who that was. An old women in a strange looking apparel appeared from the trees. “It’s alright now, you are safe,” the woman says.

Azern looked puzzled, “who are you? what are you?”

“I am a Jedi sent to rescue you.” She tells him her name.

“What’s a Jedi? where did that creature go and how did it fly?”

“I understand you have a lot of questions Azern. I promise they will be answered very soon.”

Azern and the woman would walk their way back to the village, finding his parents again. “Mom, Father, I’m so sorry.”

“It’s okay son, you will be safer for now on,” his dad replied with a little bit of sorrow.

“what’s wrong father? Why is mom crying?”

They stand quiet, for a second. “You have a new home now. you will be taken there soon.”

Azern looks at the woman and back at his parents. “Am I leaving forever?” Azern eyes start to tear.

“I’m afraid so.”

Azern gives his family one last hug. He takes the Jedi’s hand, enters the shuttle and takes off to the Jedi temple.
