Biography

Leojay Shaharr has been a quiet, studious child since his earlier childhood years. His father and mother, a miner and a clerk respectively, raised Leojay to be respectful around adults. While those teachings stuck with him, his treatment of children around his age were often dismissive. He was not a cocky child by any means, he just preferred to be left alone. However, due to some convincing from his parents, he made a couple of friends, who gave Leojay the nickname ‘LJ.’ The children were 9 years old at the time of their friendship’s birth.

A triennium passes. The trio of children had grown into an inseparable group, and Leojay had opened up a substantial amount. He had a brighter light about him when around his friends, and he had even become more accepting of other children. Unfortunately, there had been a constantly growing problem: his close friends were subjected to bullying. Kids left Leojay alone due to his standoffish demeanor, but found opportunities to torment his friend. Due to these circumstances, the friends became much more reserved, afraid to do things on their own. Leojay, who knew about the situation, tried on multiple occasions to offer suggestions about how his friend could handle the bullying. The methods would have worked had it been anyone else, but his friends couldn’t bring themselves to do anything.

One day, Leojay was heading home from an errand his mother sent him on when he heard shouting. He immediately ran to investigate, and he came across the bullies harassing his friends. He had grown tired of the situation, so he confronted the group of bullies, who outnumbered the trio by at least double. Leojay demanded the bullies leave and that there would not be an issue, but the bullies had a better idea. They decided it was about time that the typically dismissive and standoffish Leojay had learned his lesson. While the majority of the group continued to scare his friends, the rest attempted to get under the boy’s skin. After seeing that their mental and emotional attempts were futile, they tried to be physical, which did not bode well. The kids shoved Leojay around, egging him on to do something about it. Despite his warnings to stop, the bullies continued. After a point, Leojay snapped and swung. It was a sloppy attempt at a punch, but the point was made when it connected and sent one of the bullies tear-stricken and sprawling to the ground. The other bullies all stopped and looked at the aftermath. Even his two friends were shocked to see Leojay retaliate. The bullies, now seeking revenge for their friend, all attempted to attack Leojay.

Leojay, now finally intimidated, crossed his arms as a way to protect himself. He squeezed his eyes shut tight, anticipating multiple strikes against him, but none came. Instead, a faint burst extended from Leojay, pushing the bullies away a couple of feet. Even his friends, who were not as close, felt some sort of jolt, but they were not moved. All of the kids were either frozen in shock, shivering in fear, or both. Leojay, unaware of the events that had occurred, opened his eyes. He met the gaze of the children, confused. He took a step forward and the bullies instinctively backed away. This left the boy confused. He looked at his friends, asking if they were okay, but they looked away, slowly backing away as well. After some time, Leojay gave up and left, heartbroken and confused. He sealed himself away in his room, having developed a deep sense of isolation.

News of the incident spread like wildfire and soon, every person within the area knew of what happened, whether they believed it or not. The incident was reported to authorities, and Leojay was taken in. He was then tested for being Force-sensitive.
