Sae’lin grew up on a quiet farming world, helping her parents in the fields until raiders came when she was four. They burned her home and drove her family off-world. Her parents tried to start over on Nar Shaddaa, but the undercity proved harsher than anything they had left behind.

Not long after, her parents were killed in the crossfire of a turf war between the Vorn Klaws and the Brutal Krait Syndicate. The Klaws’ leader, shaken by what he saw, took Sae’lin in. She became like a surrogate daughter to him, working as an informant and tinkering with an old speeder bike in her spare time.

At nine, tragedy struck again when the Kraits raided the Klaws’ hideout. In one night, the only family she had left was gone. Sae’lin became the last surviving member of the Klaws, and the Kraits made sure everyone knew it — a warning to others not to cross them.

A year later, the Kraits finally cornered her. That’s when she crossed paths with Jedi Knight Kelan Dar, who happened to be passing through Nar Shaddaa en route to the Core Worlds. Kelan intervened and saved her, though he was badly wounded. Sae’lin couldn’t abandon him and guided him through alleys and storm tunnels she knew like the back of her hand to his ship. Along the way, he spoke to her of the

Jedi and sensed an inkling of the Force within her — but also the fear and anger that had grown in her over years of loss.

Kelan escaped with her aboard his freighter and continued his course toward the Core. But his injuries worsened with each jump. Near the sector where Duneeden lay, Kelan realized he wasn’t going to survive. With his last strength, he instructed his astromech, T3-L4, to deliver Sae’lin safely to the Jedi Temple on Duneeden. Then he passed, leaving her to face an uncertain future.
