Vosden Palooran comes from a cold moon in the Outer Rim Territories. The first ten years of his life are spent in the care of his family in a high-rise city over the marshy tundras of Pantora. His father is an engineer and his mother writes fiction. Their family is big: five children, various pets, and aunts and uncles that visit constantly. There are seasonal trips to all the vistas of the moon seen through large viewports in expensive resorts. Vosden gets to see his father at work and marvels at the verticality of Pantora’s architecture. He does not develop a fear for heights as he surveys his father’s participation in projects. From his mother, he inherits an insatiable imagination and love of fiction. Not long after his private schooling begins, he’s identified as force sensitive and then relocated to Dantooine in order to contrast his privileged upbringing with a more grounded location.

The following three years on Dantooine are a time of development and conditioning. Vosden often shares stories of the natural beauty of Pantora with other students. He dreams constantly of vivid, natural places. There’s no particular field that captivates Vosden through his days as an Initiate. He draws places he’s never been to and dreams of faraway worlds. Though his training continues at pace, the Council wonders if a change of scenery might reveal something about Vosden that hides beneath the surface. When the Council contemplates where a good mountain range can be found, they don’t have to look much further than Duneeden.
