Biography
Dekt and Liv’id Moxlee originally took Maliss in the wrong direction in life, only with the best intention. When she was born, they had been producing death sticks for a Hutt cartel. Their goal was simple, work enough to save enough to move off their home planet, move to Coruscant and find new jobs that would be enough to put her through a proper school in hopes that she would become a politician or celebrity, and one day retire in her care. It all seemed simple, until it was demanded they move operations into Hutt Space. They found themselves unwilling to take the chance to raise her outside of core planet life and instead packed their bags, running away to start their lives on Coruscant early.
At first they tried, but they couldn’t seem to land legitimate work, whether it be due to their limited work experience, racism or bad luck – in the end they ended up producing again, this time for themselves, with Maliss occasionally helping as the unexpected delivery (under supervision, of course). The Moxlees’ produced perfectly potent sticks, enough to bring one on the brink of death and back again – the perfect junky rush. It was that formula of potency that had the Hutt sending a bounty hunter after her parents and Coruscant law enforcement raiding their house – on the same night. The bounty hunters came first, only to be interrupted by a pair of Jedi that were sent to investigate and bring them in – a fight broke out and the bounty hunters barely managed to escape with Liv’id in tow. The Jedi took Dekt into custody – in a quick effort to make some effort to get Maliss some sort of protection, he admitted their daughter was hiding. The one of the knights confirmed that he felt her presence, hiding under a floorboard.
As if she could tell through the floor which board the knight would pry up, Maliss shuffled about causing the knight to have to yank up half the floor until he finally caught her. They brought her in with her father, though after testing her, they ended up taking her back to their temple. Upon a few behavioral infractions and a clear rift between her and other padawans, she was transferred to Duneeden to be closer to her father’s incarceration site as well as attempt to allow her more specialized training.
